Invesco, a global asset management company, has unveiled an investment company focusing solely on the metaverse. The Invesco Metaverse Fund is registered in Luxembourg and has a value of around $30 million.
Invesco launches $30M metaverse fund
The metaverse has become a rapidly growing area in the crypto industry. The metaverse involves an integrated network of 3D worlds and online communities that allow people to interact via virtual reality headsets and augmented reality.
The metaverse is one of the most popular topics worldwide, and it is already attracting some of the largest brands in the market. The Invesco fund will support investments in large, medium, and small companies across the metaverse.
Invesco has also clarified that the fund will include multiple distinct and correlated sectors that will support, create and benefit the growth of the virtual world. A PWC report on December 20202 estimates that the VR and AR worlds will attract another $1.5 trillion to the global economy.

Tony Roberts, the fund manager, estimates that the interconnectivity of the metaverse would have a notable impact across different industries operating in multiple sectors such as healthcare, logistics, education, and sport. Roberts also said that the company would capitalize on these opportunities using a “selective, valuation-conscious approach.”
Invesco metaverse fund will focus on seven key areas
The Invesco Metaverse Fund has been actively managed over the years and will be used to invest in seven key areas. These areas include operating and computer systems and hardware devices that provide access to the metaverse and support networks that provide hyper-connectivity.
The other investments that will also be under focus include immersive platforms created for artificial intelligence, blockchain solutions, and the tools needed to support system interoperability. It will also support the services and assets needed to support the digitization of the economy.
The Invesco Metaverse Fund offers a highly diversified portfolio. The portfolio will feature companies across geographies such as Asia, Europe, Japan and the US. However, the company has failed to provide any additional details about this company.
The fund’s performance will be assessed using metrics such as the MSCI AC World (Net Total Return). The management will also comprise a fee of 0.75%, according to a spokesperson for Invesco.
