Immutable Partnership Announcement Follows SEC Probe Closure

  • Immutable to unveil multibillion-dollar deal after two years of development
  • SEC clears IMX token investigation, removing regulatory hurdles
  • Immutable Passport hits 5M users; over 500 games now on the platform

Immutable co-founder Robbie Ferguson let the crypto world know the company is set to reveal the outcome of a multibillion-dollar partnership they’d been working on for over two years. His update Tuesday on X sparked immediate attention from the crypto industry and users, signaling a major development ahead for the blockchain gaming platform.

In a post shared on April 21, Ferguson wrote, “Tomorrow we announce the outcome of a multibillion-dollar partnership that’s been in the works for 2+ years.”

The statement has fueled anticipation among Immutable’s user base, with several community members taking to X to express excitement. One longtime follower commented, “If this is what I think it is… game-changing doesn’t even begin to describe it,” while another user posted, “Excited and can’t wait to hear.”

Green Light: Announcement Follows SEC Clearance

This much-anticipated announcement comes right after Immutable got the green light from US regulators, following an SEC investigation closure on Immutable’s native token, IMX. In November 2024, the SEC issued a Wells notice to the company, raising questions about alleged securities violations.

However, in late March 2025, the investigation was closed without enforcement, providing regulatory clearance for the firm to proceed with its plans.

Ferguson addressed the regulatory development in a follow-up post, saying, “Now the investigation’s over, so lock in, because we’re only accelerating from here.” He noted that Immutable has continued to grow despite the scrutiny, securing new partnerships and expanding its ecosystem.

Immutable Highlights Strong User and Ecosystem Growth

Ferguson also shared some impressive growth numbers from Immutable’s ecosystem. He highlighted that in the past year, the platform welcomed five million users via its Immutable Passport service – their non-custodial wallet designed for easy Web3 game access.

Showing room for expansion, Ferguson noted these users came from just 10% of games available on the network right now.

Immutable now supports over 500 games in development or live, backed by recent partnerships with major firms including Tencent and Temasek. Ferguson highlighted the importance of long-term progress over current figures, stressing that the pace of growth holds more value than the platform’s present standing.
