In order to allow the industrial metaverse and boost the usage of AI-driven digital twin technology that will help push industrial automation to a new level, industrial manufacturing giant Siemens, tech firm NVIDIA, and tech company NVIDIA announced an extension of their relationship.
The future plans
The organizations want to link NVIDIA Omniverse, a platform for 3D design and collaboration, with Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform.
This will make it possible for businesses to make choices more quickly and confidently in an industrial metaverse equipped with physics-based digital models from Siemens and real-time AI from NVIDIA.
The open Siemens Xcelerator partner ecosystem will be expanded with the addition of Omniverse, which will accelerate the adoption of photorealistic digital twins that may boost productivity and simplify processes throughout the manufacturing and product lifecycles.
Thanks to the integration of Siemens Xcelerator and NVIDIA Omniverse, manufacturing clients of any size will be able to diagnose problems right away, identify their main causes, and simulate and improve solutions, according to Busch and Huang.
As a result, teams of users from all over the world will be able to communicate remotely and utilize the connected digital twin to swiftly detect, debug, and fix problems, for instance, if anything goes wrong on the production floor.
Additionally, the alliance aims to increase the sustainability and efficiency of manufacturing. Users will find it simpler to convert the data flowing from the PLCs and sensors on the production floor into AI models.
These models may be used to anticipate issues and constantly improve performance.
