Flexible and Efficient Computational Resources

  • Spheron introduces Fizz Nodes, enhancing AI workload deployment with flexible computational resource contributions and uptime standards.
  • Users earn through direct and IDLE rewards, with required 50% uptime per 24-hour ERA for liveness reward eligibility.

On October 1, 2024, Singapore-based Spheron announced the launch of Fizz Nodes, a new feature that allows individuals to earn rewards by providing computational resources on its decentralized platform. Fizz Nodes simplify participation in the Spheron network, enabling users to deploy AI workloads on the edge without the strict reliability requirements of traditional provider nodes.

Fizz Nodes are designed to democratize access to Spheron’s decentralized network by allowing users to contribute GPU and CPU resources. This initiative lowers the barrier to entry by implementing more flexible uptime standards. Participants receive compensation based on the computational power they provide and their node’s uptime, with earnings varying depending on demand and resource utilization.

Participants can earn through two primary methods: direct rewards and IDLE rewards. Liveness rewards, denominated in Spheron Points, are calculated daily based on the quality of resources provided. To qualify for these rewards, a node must maintain at least 50% uptime during each 24-hour ERA. Additionally, node operators can earn directly from users who lease their computational resources, with the majority of leasing fees, after network deductions, going to the operators.

Prashant Maurya, Co-founder of Spheron, emphasized the significance of Fizz Nodes:

“Introducing Fizz Nodes enables a more streamlined approach for users to contribute valuable compute resources while adhering to a lower standard of uptime than traditional provider nodes. This offering is designed to expand our network’s scalability and efficiency and to empower a wider array of contributors.”

To facilitate management, Spheron has introduced a Fizz Node Leaderboard. This feature allows operators to easily monitor their node’s performance, track uptime, view earnings, and adjust settings. The leaderboard also provides tools for withdrawing earnings accrued from liveness rewards and direct leases.

Currently, Fizz Nodes support MacOS and Linux, with plans to extend compatibility to Windows soon. Setting up a Fizz Node involves registering it on the Spheron network and configuring it according to a provided guide. Operators can then use the Leaderboard to oversee their node’s activities and financial performance.

For more information on how to set up and operate a Fizz Node, individuals are encouraged to visit the Spheron website.
