On Twitter, people are sharing what seems to be a doctored picture. A picture of Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) on Interpol’s red notice webpage suggests the cryptocurrency company is in deep legal danger. CZ claims the photo was doctored with Photoshop.
To back up his assertion, he says that it’s obviously not private information since else there would be leaks inside Interpol, which is very unlikely. Despite widespread speculation to the contrary, as of Wednesday, April 3rd, Interpol’s official website does not include a Red Notice for Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao.
Previously, Jordan Fish, presenter of the UpOnly podcast and better known by his stage name, Cobie, spread the word that Zhao had been served with a Red Notice. Deciphering Cobie’s Tweet revealed the simple message, “Interpol Red Notice for CZ.”
BNB Stablizes Post Correction
Furthermore, CZ advises crypto market participants to pay little attention to rumors and guesswork. When a person is wanted for extradition, surrender, or similar legal action, a red notice is issued, alerting law enforcement authorities throughout the world to identify and temporarily detain that individual.
When markets responded negatively to the false information, the value of Binance’s native currency, BNB, plummeted. BNB dropped by 4% in an hour, reaching roughly $300, its lowest price in three weeks.
Nevertheless, the price immediately recovered as sellers recognized their errors and stopped selling in a hurry. The asset’s pricing on the market remains unchanged at $310 from yesterday. As a result, it has stayed inside the confines of its seven-day limiting channel.
