In light of blockchain gaming’s advancement into the mainstream gaming industry, Medieval Empires: Ertugrul’s founding team attended the Blockchain Economy Istanbul Summit, the biggest blockchain event in Eurasia, on July 27th and 28th, 2022.
The team includes the game’s Chief Visionary Officer, Assad Dar, Blockchain Entrepreneur Carl ‘The Moon’ Runefelt, and world-famous Turkish actor and producer Engin Altan Düzyatan.
The team had a panel discussion at the conference where they spoke on “Taking Blockchain Gaming Mainstream”. Carl was asked, “How do you think Blockchain technology can create a massive difference in the Mainstream Gaming industry? To which he answered, “When you combine gaming and crypto, it’s going to be a huge and growing economy. We’ve been working on this project for the past year. We want to make sure that anyone can enjoy it without having any expert knowledge. The problem with crypto games now is that they need some expertise. But we want to bring crypto gaming to everyone.”
Assad Dar, Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Medieval Empires, shared his views on what the project and game want to convey to users. He stated: “Besides having a great team, from Carl as an Investor and Engin Altan from pop culture, our game will reach the masses for sure. But we wanted to make it easier for people to play the game”. Assad further mentioned how most people currently struggle to create a blockchain wallet and went on to explain the USP of the game’s custodial wallet: “You can easily start the game, register, and without any prior knowledge, you can easily join the game and start earning from the beginning without paying any money.”
During the discussion, Assad announced significant partnerships with gaming giants such as Blockchain Space: the Metaverse guild hub that includes over 700 gaming guilds, Troy, the largest Turkish gaming guild, and NEFTA on the Stage.
At the panel, Engin Altan Duzyatan was asked about his first encounter with the Web 3 phenomenon. He came across blockchain technology during the pandemic over the last 3 years. During his study of the cryptocurrency, NFT, and Blockchain industry, Assad and Carl proposed the idea behind the game.
Though Engin Altan’s interest was sparked due to the nature and scope of the project, he felt hesitant due to the well-covered impact of blockchain technology on the environment. However, upon learning that Medieval Empires is working with Polygon, a blockchain framework with a massive emphasis on creating the least carbon footprint, he was even more intrigued.
Engin also stated that “the game was built on a structure that does not leave a carbon footprint and does not consume energy, and that gives energy to the world, was one of the points that impressed me the most and made me feel very comfortable. In line with my studies about this environment and with our joint conversations, we agreed as partners to allocate 1% of the income from the game to environmental awareness, climate problems, and disasters.” Thus concluding his sentiments regarding giving back to the planet by being environmentally conscious and employing ethically designed technologies.
The game’s Turkish trailer was played at the event, giving attendees and potential players an idea of what to expect. The Medieval Empires: Erturgrul team also received an award at the end of the event.
