Drugging and Coercion Claims Emerge Against DWF Labs Partner
The incident is said to have taken place on October 24, with the alleged victim, identified as Hana, saying that she met the accused DWF Labs partner in Hong Kong regarding possible career opportunities in the crypto world.
Hana of a Tokyo-based USD fund said that, during the meeting, the DWF Labs partner put unidentified objects into her drink while she had left the table briefly to use the restroom. She said she returned, took a few sips and left the bar because she wanted to take a call. A waiter approached her and told her what the man did.
On X, Hana wrote about how she was looking to transition professionally from Web 2.0 into Web3. She said from there, he hit her up, pestering her to come join him in his hotel suite, telling her, “I’ll take you to get a taxi. I have a suite in Murrary. If you treat me well, I can give you more inside information.”
Hana flew back to Hong Kong on October 29 to file a report with the police and handed over closed-circuit television footage and testimony from two waitstaff members. Wu Blockchain reported that the reviewed footage corroborates the evidence.
DWF Labs Responds: Partner Dismissed Amid Internal Investigation
The accused partner, identified on social media by user AB Kuai Dong as Eugene Ng, a co-founder of OpenEden and DWF Labs partner, has deleted his X account. DWF Labs later announced Ng’s removal from all managerial and operational roles, saying in response that the firm is “aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations involving one of our partners.” The firm promised an internal investigation.
DWF Labs went on to state that a full inquiry into the matter would ensue, emphasizing that the allegations against it expose unacceptable behaviour that is out of step with the principles the company supports.
