Doge Enthusiasts Can Embark On Pilgrimage To Kabosu’s Home In Japan

  • Enthusiastic fans of the Doge meme and Dogecoin can visit the real-life home of Kabosu in Japan.
  • Tridog visited Kabosu’s owner in Japan and is offering a similar trip to Doge enthusiasts.
  • Limited spots are available for the Doge pilgrimage trip, with one lucky winner’s fees and airfare.

Enthusiastic fans of Kabosu, the Shiba Inu who became famous as the face of the original Doge meme, and now appears on the popular Dogecoin cryptocurrency, can embark on a pilgrimage to visit the dog’s real-life home in Sakura, Japan.

Own the Doge, a community that focuses on Doge-themed NFTs and is supported by Doge DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) with a focus on Doge, is providing the opportunity to visit Kabosu’s home in Sakura, Japan. Doge DAO was created by PleasrDAO, a group of NFT artists and collectors who combine their resources to obtain culturally significant digital art.

Last autumn, “tridog,” a devout believer in the D.O.G.E. philosophy of “Do Only Good Everyday” and a key contributor to Own the Doge and PleasrDAO, had the opportunity to visit Kabosu and her owner, Atsuko Sato, a kindergarten teacher, at their home in Japan. The experience had a profound impact on him, and he is now excited to offer a similar experience to a select group of fellow Doge enthusiasts. Tridog added,

We think of Pleasr as The Louvre of the internet, and of Doge as her Mona Lisa

Tridog is excited to offer a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to visit Kabosu’s roots in Tokyo and surrounding areas from May 3 to 7. The trip will include visits to dog-themed temples and statues, a Geisha performance dinner, and meeting Kabosu in Sakura, where participants will also see the future site of a bronze statue of the Doge. Honorary guest Kyle Craven, aka Bad Luck Brian, will also be joining the trip, and anonymous Doge enthusiasts can wear Doge-themed masks provided by the organizers.

However, there are limited spaces available for the Doge pilgrimage trip, and applicants are required to disclose their motivations for joining. One lucky raffle winner will have their trip fees and airfare covered by Doge DAO, but contestants must own at least one Doge Pixel NFT to enter. The Doge Pixel NFT represents individual pixels from the original Doge meme, which was fractionalized into billions of DOG tokens by PleasrDAO. The organization also auctioned the couch from the original Doge meme last month for charity.
