A new free virtual reality music festival was announced a few days ago, resulting from the collaboration of two famous augmented reality and metaverse platforms: Over the Reality and Decentraland.
Over the Reality (OVR), is the famous Augmented Reality (AR) platform ready to officially collaborate with Decentraland for the Metaverse Music Festival 2022.
Decentraland is a browser-based platform of the 3D virtual world where users can buy virtual plots of land in the platform as NFTs using the MANA cryptocurrency, which uses the Ethereum blockchain.
Designers then can create and sell clothes and accessories for avatars to use in the virtual world, or metaverse.
Davide Cuttini, Co-founder and CEO of OVR said:
“Our partnership with Decentraland represents the future of virtual and physical events, allowing users to experience the best of in-person events with the added features, information and technology of the Metaverse. We are especially excited to offer our users the opportunity to see some of their favorite artists live, while also having the chance to explore a user experience tailored for social interaction through AR.”
The music festival involving these two meta-realities will be entirely interactive.
What will a virtual reality music festival in the Decentraland metaverse look like?
For the first time, augmented reality will allow fans of music festivals, particularly those in the house and disco music genres, to attend a music festival in total comfort without tickets or headphones and with a User Experience of a high technological and, above all, comfort level.
Set in a cyberpunk and natural landscape, the festival will feature as many as 15 uniquely designed stages, performances by more than 100 musical artists and especially new interactive experiences in the metaverse.
Sam Hamilton, creative director of Decentraland, said:
“The latest headline set should look like a city from the future, abandoned for 100 years.”
Artists at the Metaverse festival
From 10 to 13 November there will be numerous artists performing on the OVR stage, as well as celebrities such as Ozzy Osbourne, Dillon Francis (who will open the festival), SNH48 and Spottie WiFi.

On stage will be DJ and producer Reguard, who has reached nearly 2 billion streams with his international hits and remixed Due Lipa’s hit “Don’t Start Me Now” in February.
His celebrated “Ride it,” has been an international hit for a long time in the top 10 charts.
Nicola Fasano will also be there: Nicola is a dance and electro music talent, famous for mixes like I like to Move it or 75, Brazil Street.
Born in 1975, he started playing piano as a child and then graduated from the conservatory becoming a sound engineer. His study is strongly visible in his tracks and confirmed by his numbers: over 275 million streams on Youtube and 6 million records sold.
Jamis, the Italian dance music talent famous for his ‘Renegade Master’ featuring Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, will take the stage at OVR. His music is a mix of Tribal, house and Edm contaminations.
He has participated in the famous Belgian electronic music festival Tomorrowland and collaborated with Nicky Romero and some of the world’s top labels.
Also on the OVR stage will be Danilo Rossini, who has been producing and mixing disco music for years and has played in the most prominent Italian clubs.
And that’s not all: one of the youngest and most established beatboxers in Italy will perform on the OVR stage, namely Beatboxer Azel.
How to participate in the event in the metaverse?
A QR code will be made scannable on the OVR stage that will allow users to directly download the OVR App: the OVR app will offer a unique augmented reality experience, letting the viewer enjoy all the DJ performances.
Not least, Decentraland’s Metaverse will allow users to participate in live DJ performances in video format: Decentraland has promoted a hashtag #DCLMVMF22 on Twitter, surely a way to create community among users participating in the meta-festival, for a unique and engaging experience that looks to the future.
