Binance founder Changpeng Zhao will be making his first public appearance at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai after stepping from the company’s operations completely earlier this year. In his post on Thursday, October 10, Zhao stated that he would be attending one of the biggest web3 events of the year in a personal capacity.

Crytpo community Eagerly Awaits to Hear Changpeng Zhao

CZ’s declaration of his upcoming appearance at the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai has stirred major market excitement with top leaders showing eagerness to hear him speculating what he would be sharing ahead. Tron founder Justin Sun was among the first to welcome Zhao.

As said, this will be Zhao’s first public engagement since pleading guilty to violating U.S. anti-money laundering regulations and agreeing to a $50 million fine. As we know, Binance has made a settlement of $4.3 billion, making it one of the largest corporate settlements in U.S. history.

As part of the settlement, Zhao resigned as the CEO of Binance while serving four months in prison until his release in late September. However, Zhao has since completely withdrawn from the company’s operations., per the CNF report.

Despite these developments, Zhao maintains a 90% ownership stake in Binance, keeping him among the wealthiest figures in the crypto industry with an estimated net worth of $61 billion.

What to Expect At Binance Blockchain Week?

Later this month between October 30-31, the Binance Blockchain Week 2024 event will take place building on the last year’s success of the Istanbul event. As per the official announcement from Binance, the event theme will center around “momentum” focusing on the ongoing challenges and progress in the crypto industry. The event will explore the current state of the sector, its hurdles, and the direction it is heading.

The event will include discussions on how the crypto industry can uphold its decentralized values while adapting to changing regulations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions and workshops focused on exploring new blockchain tools and platforms.

The event features a roster of prominent industry figures, including Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik, Sotheby’s Vice President of Digital Art Michael Bouhanna, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, and Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation. In addition to Zhao, these key players will be making appearances.
