Chromia has officially launched Filehub, its decentralized storage solution, on the platform’s mainnet. This new service offers a secure and scalable way for users to store and access digital files. The news was shared on Chromia’s official X account. The deployment of Filehub marks a significant advancement for the blockchain platform, which is known for its modular framework and ability to support dedicated decentralized applications (dApps).
Filehub Offers Secure, Decentralized Storage with 30-Year Guarantee
Filehub uses Chromia blockchain to offer a safe way to store and access files and metadata with a special emphasis on the horizontal scaling. The platform guarantees that files are distributed in an unchangeable manner so that it cannot be censored or modified. Such a decentralized approach is intended to provide staking for years, which is especially relevant for projects where data immutability is a priority.
Filehub storage fees are paid in Chromia’s native token CHR at $0.10 per megabyte. However, as Chromia infrastructure grows, it plans on cutting the costs of storage. Every file uploaded to the platform is backed with an over 30-year guarantee of the file’s security.
Filehub was developed to meet the requirements of many applications where they need decentralized storage with proper security which is immutable and permanent. They include; NFTs, legal papers, and other confidential information. The platform is suitable when it is necessary to collect data for a long time and exclude the possibility of unauthorized changes to it.
Filehub Now Live on Mainnet, Set to Revolutionize Decentralized Storage
The Filehub works through two main parts. The Filehub Blockchain records file details and handles references to data, and the Filechain Blockchains store data in various nodes and verify payments by means of proofs. This decentralized structure also guarantees both high availability of data and their transparency.
Filehub has already been used by Fanzeal to store images and metadata of the collectibles such as those on its VfB Stuttgart market. With Filehub now going live on the mainnet, Chromia is hopeful that more projects from the Web3 and other sectors will integrate with it storage service. This will be a great factor in the future of decentralized storage and blockchain architecture.
