Cardano founder has denied working with Ripple as an intern, saying that people confuse him with Ethereum’s co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has taken to Twitter to address a misconception making the rounds within the cryptocurrency community. Some crypto enthusiasts have recently alleged that Hoskinson once worked with Ripple as an intern.
Hoskinson Reacts
The rumor has been spreading like wildfire within the crypto community, prompting Hoskinson to comment on the matter. In a tweet yesterday, Hoskinson wondered why he keeps seeing claims that he worked at Ripple as an intern.
“Why do I keep seeing people claim I worked at Ripple as an intern? I never worked for them in any capacity.”
The top crypto entrepreneur asserted that he never worked with Ripple in any capacity. Furthermore, Hoskinson said people are only confusing him with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin whom he believes worked with the California-based tech company as an intern.
Why do I keep seeing people claim I worked at Ripple as an intern? I never worked for them in any capacity. You’re confusing me for Vitalik who I believe was an intern

The development comes weeks after Hoskinson made a rare move by calling for peace with the XRP community. It bears mentioning that both Hoskinson and Buterin are listed as co-founders of the Ethereum blockchain.
Crypto Enthusiasts React
Meanwhile, Hoskinson’s tweet stirred reactions from crypto community members, with many people making fun of the development. In the comment section, a Twitter user called the Cardano founder “Vitalik Hoskinson.”

Another Twitter user joked that people are confusing Hoskinson with Buterin probably because they both “look alike.”
Probably because you two look alike

However, some people urged Hoskinson not to pay attention to these rumors while encouraging him to focus on building Cardano.
Stop caring about what they say dude

Damn these tweets make me so bearish on Cardano. Why do you care? Just focus on what you’re building.

Notably, Buterin disclosed in 2019 that he once applied for an internship position at Ripple in mid-2013. At the time, Buterin, being a young tech enthusiast, saw Ripple as the company where he could develop more knowledge to venture into the crypto world.
However, Buterin said he missed the opportunity to work as a Ripple intern due to visa-related issues. Two years later, Buterin joined a group of tech enthusiasts to launch Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
Former Ripple Exec Confirms
As reported By The Crypto Basic, Last month, former Ripple exec Matt Hamilton also confirmed that Buterin applied to work as an intern at Ripple.
Hamilton made this known following a debate about which blockchain first supported tokenized assets, decentralized exchanges, smart contract features, and stablecoins.
Author of “Understanding the Crypto Economy,” Panos Mekras, said XRP Ledger (XRPL) was the first blockchain to offer these features.
However, crypto analytics platform Token Paddock rebuffed Mekras’ claim, saying Ethereum was the first blockchain to offer decentralized features.
Paddock’s assertion infuriated Hamilton, who clarified that XRPL launched several years before Ethereum. He added that Buterin was sleeping on Ripple CTO David Schwartz’s couch while trying to be enrolled as an intern in the California-based company.
