The official X account of BNBCHAIN was compromised, and phishing links were distributed; the victims had been deceived out of 13K, although the security department has assured full refunds.
The official BNBCHAIN X account was hacked, and malicious phishing links were posted. These connections were used to steal cryptocurrency as they made users connect wallets with fraudulent websites.

The hack had cost approximately 13,000 dollars for various users. The biggest victim casualty lost 6500 dollars in the attack.
This hack had a single phishing agreement deployed by the attacker who injected $17,800 in the beginning before cashing out meme tokens at 22,000.

The founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), verified the case on X and advised his followers against clicking any of the links that the hacked account had posted recently.
He cautioned the community against being careless and not attaching wallets to sites that are suspicious. CZ advised against connecting your wallet, which is where the phishing risk lies in the use of Wallet Connect.
The security teams of Binance and BNBCHAIN responded promptly by telling X to freeze the account that had been compromised and to make takedown requests of phishing sites.
Investigation Ongoing; Community Responds with Sharp Wit
The team of BNBCHAIN has taken back the account and is looking into the cause of the breach.
Notwithstanding the blowback, CZ promised the community that the victims would be paid in full for the losses they had suffered.

The last actions taken by the attacker were the dumping of all the tokens acquired by him at a gain of 4000 dollars, which the community bought at an increased margin, mockingly indicating a great, powerful, rebellious recovery.
The data leak highlights the distinction between social media security and crypto platform security, which is a major lesson to the ecosystem.
BNBCHAIN is determined to be transparent and to enhance its security in order to avoid such incidents.
This event is connected with advanced phishing techniques that can be related to the popular Inferno phishing organization that is associated with crypto wallet fraud. The quick reaction of Binance minimized the damage and avoided further exploitation.
