Brave Browser Launches Social Puzzle Game to Boost Web3 Adoption

  • Brave has launched a new game, aiming to boost Web3 adoption.
  • The multi-week “vault heist competition” will attract users to the Brave browser.
  • Brave’s new game partners with Midnight Network, Mythical Games, and Fanon platforms.

Brave, the privacy-focused browser developer, has launched a new game, aiming to boost Web3 adoption and attract users to its ecosystem. According to reports, Brave intends to use the social puzzle game to engage a wider audience and promote its network’s native Basic Attention Token (BAT).

A Multi-Week “Vault Heist Competition”

In a Tuesday announcement, Brave launched a multi-week “vault heist competition” to unveil the game to the broader internet community. The upcoming competition will involve players engaging in the social puzzle game across multiple platforms, including the Brave browser, X, and Discord.

In the meantime, Brave is introducing a new approach to Web3 gaming with innovations that would look less like DeFi dashboards and more like a reality-TV show playing across social media. According to Luke Mulks, VP of Business Operations at Brave, anyone who is curious and likes strategic thinking will enjoy the game. He noted that the game is free and available to anyone, and does not require any special gaming expertise or technical knowledge.

Pre-registration for the game began on Tuesday, January 27, with the game scheduled to become active on February 3. According to Brave, it has received over 4,000 pre-registrations, and the game will be available for free on the Brave browser across desktop and mobile devices.

Top Web3 Gaming Platforms Come Together in Partnership

Meanwhile, the newly launched game brings together Brave, Midnight Network, and Mythical Games in partnership with Fanon, a social gaming platform. Players will sign up through Fanon’s platform and choose one of three factions—Brave (orange), Midnight (black), or Mythical (purple). Participating in the game involves solving encrypted clues, completing missions, and racing to unlock a digital vault across four weekly phases.

It is worth noting that players can form alliances and work together to identify moles, solve puzzles, and participate in prediction mechanics and social challenges across the Brave browser, Fanon platform, and the X and Discord social channels. Brave’s game is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

For the vault heist competition, the final result will be announced on February 27, with the top 500 players receiving prizes from Brave and its partners.
