Bitfinex to Introduce Mantle’s Native Token MNT for Trading

Bitfinex, a leading digital asset trading platform, has announced its plans to list MNT, the native token of Mantle, a modular Ethereum Layer-2 network. Understanding Mantle and Its Governance

Launched in 2023, Mantle operates with a modular architecture that separates execution, consensus, and data availability layers, enhancing performance while maintaining Ethereum’s security features. Governance is community-driven, with decisions made through an on-chain voting system where proposals are enacted based on majority support from token holders.

The MNT token serves multiple roles within the Mantle ecosystem. It acts as the native gas token for transaction fees and the governance token for Mantle DAO, enabling stakeholders to propose and vote on protocol amendments. Furthermore, MNT is integral to Mantle’s staking and incentive mechanisms designed to bolster network growth and participation. The total supply of MNT is capped at 6.219 billion, with allocations earmarked for ecosystem development, governance, and treasury needs.

Bitfinex’s Listing Details

Bitfinex users will have the opportunity to deposit MNT starting at approximately 2:00 PM UTC on August 26, 2025, depending on network conditions. Trading is scheduled to begin at around 2:00 PM UTC on August 28, 2025, contingent upon meeting liquidity requirements. MNT will be available for trading against US Dollars (MNT/USD) and Tether tokens (MNT/USDt).
