- Trading teams are brought on board to Portfolio Accounts, where they are able to put strategies into action and build a track record before being accessible on Capital Connect.
Capital Connect, Binance’s marketplace platform for qualifying institutional customers, has been relaunched today, according to an announcement made by Binance. Capital Connect is now built on top of Portfolio Accounts, which is Binance’s institutional account infrastructure solution for portfolio investing.
Capital Connect, the first of its type, was first introduced with the purpose of bridging information and networking gaps between trading teams and investors. However, it has since evolved to provide a more integrated experience by merging front-end portfolio discovery with the back-end operational architecture of Portfolio Accounts. The combination of these solutions helps to eliminate the fragmentation that exists in the investing of crypto assets and offers a more organized method for participants who are qualified to connect via Binance’s technology platform.
Capital Connect enhances transparency, trust, and operational efficiency for investors who are looking to get access to trading teams in a market where crypto allocation continues to be fragmented and communication often depends on informal methods that are not transparent.
Trading teams are required to sign up for Portfolio Accounts in accordance with the revised model. Before being discoverable on Capital Connect, they are able to operate strategies and build a track record in Portfolio Accounts.
Through the platform, institutional investors are able to view portfolio information and show interest in the available opportunities. Both parties maintain their anonymity during the first step of the process. If an investor makes a connection request and the trading team approves it, the investor will get information from the trading team while maintaining their anonymity.
Investors are able to search for, filter out, and compare various strategies by:
- Types of strategies (Market Neutral, Directional, and Statistical Arbitrage, among others).
- Performance (return over thirty days, return since the beginning, net asset value per allocation)
- Risk metrics (Sharpe ratio and maximum drawdown are two examples of risk measurements).
- Terms (the minimum investment, the currency, the fees, the lock-up period, and the settlement window).

Trading teams are brought on board to Portfolio Accounts, where they are able to put strategies into action and build a track record before being accessible on Capital Connect. After then, investors who are eligible may use the platform to go at portfolio details and show interest in the investment. For the sole purpose of illustration, filler text and figures are included.
Portfolio accounts allow trading teams to pool and manage assets in one or more accounts depending on their chosen trading strategies. Portfolio accounts offer the basic architecture for omnibus accounts, which enables trading teams to pool and manage assets. Portfolio Accounts, which are based on conventional finance, provide trading teams with increased operational efficiency while also providing investors with a structured method to allocate and redeem investments. Additionally, investors have the additional assurance that funds are stored safely on Binance and cannot be removed by trading teams. Any choices about trading that are made using the platform are completely private and stay between the participants.
Catherine Chen, Head of Binance VIP & Institutional, said:
“With Capital Connect now rebuilt on top of Portfolio Accounts, we’re bringing a more integrated and scalable way for investors and trading teams to meet and work together. Capital Connect is another milestone in our journey to reduce friction in crypto market infrastructure and make digital assets more accessible for institutional and sophisticated users.”
The following are some of the key features of the upgraded Capital Connect:
- More structured discovery: Through the use of a uniform platform experience, investors who are eligible may explore portfolio information, therefore minimizing their dependence on fragmented introductions and informal market channels.
- Integrated account infrastructure: The trading teams are able to function via an omnibus account architecture that was developed to facilitate the implementation of scalable strategies and simplify processes.
- Track record visibility: Before being accessible on Capital Connect, trading teams must first demonstrate a history of operations via Portfolio Accounts with Capital Connect.
- Privacy protections: For the purpose of assisting in the protection of user information, investors and trading teams are allowed to remain anonymous during the first contact stage.
- Institutional onboarding standards: Binance VIP and Institutional users who have satisfied the necessary KYB verification standards are the only ones who are permitted to participate.
- TradFi-inspired infrastructure: Portfolio Accounts provide players in the digital asset ecosystem with operational concepts that are recognizable to those who participate in traditional finance.
Availability:
With the exception of some geographical limitations, Capital Connect is accessible to institutional users that meet the eligibility criteria and have successfully completed the KYB onboarding procedures. In order to get access to Capital Connect, trading teams are required to possess a valid license (or a recognized exemption) that has been granted by a regulatory body in their respective region. This license must be provided in order to perform investment, portfolio, or asset management operations. The following financial requirements must be met by investors in order to get access to Capital Connect: VIP3 level or above, total assets on Binance that are equal to or more than one million dollars, or the submission of external asset evidence that is comparable to one million dollars for evaluation. Investors and trading teams associated with institutions may get in touch with their Binance Institutional representative or submit their applications via official Binance channels.
