Binance France Loses Director in Latest Executive Exodus

Stéphanie Cabossioras is one of the latest in Binance leaders to step down from her position as director in the leading cryptocurrency exchange.

Binance Executives Exodus Continues

Recently, a lot has been happening within the leadership of a top digital asset service provider. Many of its key executives have been exiting the exchange and this exodus has cut across several regions where the exchange is located. Before the news of her resignation, Cabossioras was a managing director at Binance France after rising to that level in the space of about a year.

The former Binance France managing director joined the exchange in April 2022 as the head of legal in the region, just right when the company announced its intention to establish its European hub in Paris. Prior to working at Binance, she was the deputy General Counsel at France’s markets regulator Autorité des Marchés Financiers.

David Prinçay, the president of Binance France noted that Cabossioras has contributed immensely to the growth of the company. Sadly, her exit comes right in the midst of Binance’s unsettled banking in France. The exchange’s partnership with Paysafe which facilitated euro deposits and withdrawals, officially ended on September 25th, creating the need for Binance to find a new partner.

In addition, the exchange was also under investigation in France for illegal provision of digital asset services and money laundering. It was mentioned that the exchange failed to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and Anti-Money Laundering laws (AML).

Total Departure Growing

Markedly, Cabossioras is about the fifth executive that has left the popular exchange in the space of four months. In September, Binance global head of product, Mayur Kamat departed the company following the exodus of other top executives including Chief Strategy Officer Patrick Hillmann and General Counsel Hon Ng.

The multiple exit from Binance seems to be an aftermath of the charge levied against it by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Apart from the exit of its executives, there has also been a growing trend of the exit of Binance from different countries including Russia, UK, Netherlands and Cyprus.
