BG SAXO, the company born from the joint venture between Saxo Bank and Banca Generali, announces the launch of its new Capital Accumulation Plan (PAC) in ETFs, developed in collaboration with three giants of asset management: Amundi, BlackRock, and WisdomTree.
The new service aims to meet the needs of a generation of increasingly aware investors, in search of accessible, automatic, and customizable tools, capable of supporting the construction of their financial well-being over time.
ETF and PAC: instruments on the rise among Italian investors
According to recent data, 72% of Italian investors are familiar with PACs, 24% already use them, and an additional 23% plan to adopt them in the next 12 months. At the same time, European UCITS ETFs recorded net inflows of 254 billion euros in 2024, almost double compared to the previous year, confirming a bull trend that is expected to continue in 2025.
These numbers highlight how PACs and ETFs are becoming central tools in portfolio construction, thanks to their transparency, diversification, and cost efficiency.
The new PAC in ETF by BG SAXO: characteristics and advantages
The PAC in BG SAXO ETFs stands out for a series of features designed to make the investment simple, automatic, and customized:
- No opening, management, or trading costs
- No minimum deposit required
- Wide selection of ETFs (almost 200), including those from Amundi, iShares by BlackRock and WisdomTree
- Total customization: the investor can choose how much to invest each month, on which ETFs, and with which allocation
- Operational flexibility: ability to modify the amount, composition, or suspend the plan at any time
- Automatic investment: purchases are made on the 5th or the 15th of each month, at the user’s choice
- “Investimento Extra” Function: allows you to automatically invest any additional amounts while maintaining the original allocation
The only applicable costs are those provided for by the current tax regulations, such as the stamp duty or any exchange commissions for ETFs not denominated in euro.
A project designed for the new generations
The new PAC is designed particularly for the age group between 25 and 45 years, which represents a significant part of the market. According to Consob data, 24% of Italian investors are concentrated in the 35-44 years age group. It is not surprising, therefore, that BG SAXO has decided to focus on a product oriented towards flexibility and ease of use, two fundamental characteristics to attract the new generations.
The service is the Italian version of Autoinvest by Saxo Bank, already successfully active in other European countries, where it has attracted nearly 50,000 users interested in automatic investment solutions in just a few weeks.
The voices of the protagonists
Gian Paolo Bazzani, CEO of BG SAXO, emphasized the goal of the new PAC:
“We want to respond to the needs of a market where users are increasingly aware and in search of accessible, flexible, and consistent tools with their long-term goals. Investment is no longer just a matter of performance, but becomes an integral part of building future well-being.”
The partners involved in the project have also expressed enthusiasm. Ilaria Pisani, Head of ETF at Amundi SGR, stated:
“Combining the PAC with ETFs is an extremely effective choice because it addresses the need to democratize investments.”
Luca Giorgi, Head of Wealth BlackRock Southern Europe, added:
“Combining the transparency and efficiency of ETFs with the operational simplicity of an accumulation plan, these instruments are confirmed as ideal for the new generations of investors”.
Finally, Adria Beso, Head of Distribution at WisdomTree Europe, highlighted how PACs in ETFs are becoming an increasingly popular way to build long-term wealth, offering access to both core ETFs and targeted thematic strategies.
The growth of ETFs among Italian investors
In the last 12 months, BG SAXO has recorded a strong increase in ETF trading. By May 2025, the number of monthly transactions has more than doubled compared to June 2024, while the traded volumes have tripled. This trend reflects a structural change in investor habits, increasingly oriented towards transparent, diversified, and low-cost instruments.
Almost 10% of new BG SAXO clients have chosen to invest exclusively in ETFs, and over 30% hold at least one in their portfolio. Particularly significant is the growth of younger clients: the under 30 age group has increased by +112% in the last year.
BG SAXO: innovation and accessibility at the center of the mission
BG SAXO is a SIM (securities brokerage company) supervised by Consob and Banca d’Italia, born from the partnership between Saxo Bank and Banca Generali. Its mission is to offer traders and investors innovative solutions to operate in the financial markets with maximum flexibility, transparency, and cost containment.
Part of the Danish group Saxo Bank, BG SAXO benefits from the experience of an entity that serves 1.2 million clients worldwide and manages assets of over 100 billion dollars.
An opportunity for everyone
The new PAC in ETF by BG SAXO represents an important step towards a more inclusive, automated, and tailored finance. In a context where more and more Italians are approaching the world of investments, tools like this can make a difference in building a solid financial future, with method and awareness.
With the support of leading international partners and a structure designed to break down entry barriers, BG SAXO aims to be a point of reference for those who wish to invest in a smart, gradual, and autonomous way.
