4 NFTs Including a Bored Ape Stolen From Hollywood Actor Seth Green

The popular US actor, director, writer, and producer took it to Twitter yesterday to inform that he had become a victim of a phishing attack and had four NFTs stolen, which were later flagged by OpenSea.

  • With its growth over the past year or so, the NFT industry managed to attract countless celebrities, with the likes of Eminem, Neymar, Madonna, Serena Williams, Snoop Dogg, and many others purchasing such digital collections.
  • Seth Green, the 48-year-old Hollywood star known for movies like The Italian Job, Robot Chicken, and Party Monsters, is also among those popular names. However, the Pennsylvania-born actor said on Tuesday that four of his NFTs were stolen through a phishing attack.
  • Such attacks transpire when the bad actor sends some form of a fraudulent message to trick the victim into revealing sensitive information – typically, to breach his computer or phone. After gaining access, the attacker is able to steal data or deploy malicious software, such as ransomware.
  • According to Green, the four stolen NFTs were from some of the most popular NFT collections, including Doodles, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Bored Ape Yacht Club.
  • His original tweets showed the prices they were trading for at the time, and he urged the community to refrain from buying and trading them while he was trying to resolve the issue.
  • All four stolen digital collectibles are now flagged on OpenSea, saying they were “reported for suspicious activity.”
