Shiba Inu lead Shytoshi Kusama reacts to an NFT commercial from automobile manufacturer DeLorean featuring a Shiba Inu.

The crypto scene and pop culture recently collided in a unique way, as “Back to the Future” star Christopher Lloyd appeared in a DeLorean NFT commercial that also featured a Shiba Inu dog. This cameo didn’t go unnoticed by Shytoshi Kusama, the Shiba Inu lead developer, who took to X to express his excitement.

Kusama Reacts to Shiba Inu Feature

In a post, Kusama reacted with enthusiasm to the commercial, which he saw as a nod to the growing influence of the Shiba Inu brand in mainstream media.

He highlighted the involvement of DeLorean Motors and DeLorean Labs, the Web3 division of the iconic automotive brand, and noted the appearance of the Shiba Inu in the commercial alongside Lloyd. 

Interestingly, Kusama’s post hinted at an exciting potential future. He encouraged the community to get involved and freely explore the possibilities the project could hold. Participants can mint the Time Capsule NFT freely at the official website.

In a similar but recent development, Shiba Inu also featured in the Cybercab project introduced by Elon Musk’s Tesla this week. The official Dogecoin X account teased this cameo in a post on X.

The Shiba Inu’s appearance in the DeLorean Time Capsule commercial is a nod to Web3 in the ad, which blends nostalgia with futurism. Directed by Allan Ungar, the commercial pays homage to Lloyd’s famous role as Doc Brown in “Back to the Future” while introducing DeLorean’s new NFT project. 

The DeLorean Time Capsule NFTs

The Time Capsule NFTs, a primary focus of the commercial, are part of DeLorean’s latest leap into the digital era. These NFTs are minted on the Sui blockchain and represent 8,800 collectibles, which are designed to drive innovation in the automotive and digital scenes. 

The unique aspect of this collection is the opportunity for holders to win various prizes, including a brand-new DeLorean EV model, early reservations for the upcoming vehicle builds, exclusive Nike Dunk SE sneakers, and even an F1 experience package. 

Per the disclosure, participants also stand a chance to win more prizes, which the project will reveal in the coming months. This helps bolster the anticipation surrounding the NFT project.

DeLorean first introduced the Time Capsule project at this year’s Token2049 conference in Singapore, with the Web3 community receiving it warmly. In the initial minting window, participants quickly claimed 800 NFTs in under 32 minutes. This confirmed the high demand for the limited-edition collectibles. 

The team has scheduled additional minting windows through October and November 2024, leading up to the grand reveal in December. The project represents a combination of digital innovation, automotive history, and the rising trend of NFT-based experience.
