AC Milan Discloses Its NFT Collaboration With MonkeyLeague.

  • AC Milan has publicized an NFT collaboration with the web3 game MonkeyLeague.
  • As disclosed in a post on the website of the club that AC Milan, along with Monkey League, is planning to make different NFTs together as stated in the agreement.

AC Milan, or Associazione Calcio Milan, is a professional football club in Milan. The club has eagerly waited to be in the top flight of Italian football, known as Serie A, and currently, the team is existing champions of that very Italian football.

“We are very excited to start this collaboration with MonkeyLeague, a partnership that permits us to build up our position in the digital innovation industry,” Caper Stylsvig, the chief revenue officer of the Italian’s club, stated.

“We are exceptionally proud to be the only and only football club to collaborate with MonkeyLeague, taking this game to our backers all over the world and proposing to them a new revolutionary way to interact with our favorite team.”

Whereas, MonkeyLeague is a strategy-based soccer game in which users grow and handle teams in which characters are based on non-fungible tokens and fight against other players in order to win and get higher league ranks.

Basically, the game is based on the Solana blockchain and utilizes its own token known as MonkeyBucks for generating an in-game economy. As a member of the NFT gaming collaboration, MonkeyLeague will be working tirelessly with AC Milan to generate unique Milan-themed “game assets, wearables, special game tournaments, co-marketing events, and an anchor of various thrilling movements like club players playtesting the game.”

The first batch of these collectibles will be live on October 6 at the MagicEden marketplace, where an auction will be held for tokens and eventually be sold to the highest bidders.

Oren Langberg, the head of marketing and partnerships at MonkeyLeague, mentioned, “collaborating with champions like AC Milan, a perfect and famous club in the history of football, is another proof that what we are making and where we are directed as a game and game studio. It also demonstrates the main move in our plans to bridge the Web2 and Web3 spaces.”

Crypto and NFT-associated collaborations like these are not very new in the sports industry and definitely not new for the Italian club. In 2021, Milan signed a sponsorship deal with BitMEX, a crypto exchange, and derivative trading platform.
