Zara, a leading fashion brand, has announced the launch of the Lime Glam collection. The collection will target both the physical world and the virtual world. The clothes and accessories offered in this collection will be wearable on the Zepeto metaverse.
Zara moves into the metaverse
Some of the leading metaverse platforms such as Decentraland (MANA/USD), Ziliqa (ZIL/USD), and The Sandbox (SAND/USD) are already partnering with fashion brands to boost their presence in the buzzing virtual world. These platforms are used in creating avatars that can be used in the metaverse.

When choosing avatars in the virtual world, people consider various factors, such as how those avatars match up to their style and personality in the real world. Therefore, Zara will be offering avatars that can reflect both virtual and physical styles.
If a buyer chooses to have a physical version of these physical brands, they can also unlock a digital version of the same, making the buying process easier. Moreover, Zara has a dedicated website that will display the avatars dressed in the Lime Glam collection to illustrate to those who want to buy.
On the Zepeto metaverse, users can access a photo booth, digital walls and a floor that will feature this collection. Zepeto was also chosen by Gucci in August last year when the platform was launching Gucci Villa.
The 3D designs for the Lime Glam collection have a simple style, and they will reflect the current fashion trend in the market. The limited edition of this collection will include green ruched dresses, denim jackets, shoulder bags and platform sandals.
Demand for virtual fashion trends
The virtual world has become increasingly attractive to fashion and beauty brands. These brands are experimenting with the virtual versions of items as the industry moves towards exploiting the potential of the metaverse. More people are moving toward the virtual world, creating a need for physical stores to have locations in virtual spaces.
A report by Morgan Stanley said that the virtual fashion sector can hit $50 billion in market capitalization by 2030. Such growth levels will create demand for avatars dressed in fashionable garments and accessories.
