XRP & SOL Futures ETFs to Launch on Feb 10

CME Group, a major player in the American financial services industry, is reportedly preparing to roll out XRP and SOL futures ETFs in the United States. According to circulating reports, the company has unveiled a dedicated webpage outlining details of these offerings, including their contract specifications.

About XRP & SOL Futures ETF Launch

The proposed launch date for these ETFs is set for February 10, subject to regulatory clearance. The webpage reveals four separate products, covering both Solana and XRP. The Solana futures lineup includes contracts under the ticker symbol “SOL,” which represent 500 SOL each. Additionally, there is a Micro SOL Futures product with the ticker “MSL,” offering smaller contracts of 25 SOL.

For XRP, the futures contracts carry the ticker “XRP” and represent a size of 50,000 XRP per contract. A smaller option, labeled as Micro XRP Futures, is identified by the ticker “MXP” and offers contracts of 2,500 XRP.

This development comes as speculation grows around the potential approval of futures and spot ETFs for Solana and XRP by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) later this year.

Analysts Comment On Launch of Spot XRP, SOL ETFs

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart weighed in on the news, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “Assuming ‘beta.cmegroup’ is actually a beta/test version of the actual CME Group website—looks like CME is expecting to launch SOL & XRP futures on Feb 10. But this isn’t available on the actual website yet. Honestly makes sense and largely to be expected if true IMO.”

Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett also commented on the situation, stating, “So this means we’ll likely see an inflow of applications for XRP and SOL futures ETFs. Applications for spot products have also been filed but it’s unclear when those might get approved. Will be interesting to see the level of demand for futures when spot products now have a better chance of being approved under the Trump SEC.”

CME Group’s initiatives align with a broader trend of growing interest in cryptocurrency-focused ETFs. However, the market awaits regulatory confirmation to determine the feasibility of these futures products.
