WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Preview And Predictions

Jey Uso Vs. Logan Paul

Jey Uso and Logan Paul have told a simple story of the heel getting the better of the babyface at every turn. Though Jey has laid out Paul with a pair of superkicks, Logan Paul has knocked out Uso in four consecutive weeks, building up the top heel as a viable challenger.

But anybody familiar with WWE booking knows that Paul’s abundance of knockouts over Jey suggests Jey Uso will get his revenge at Saturday Night’s main event. This sets up yet another showdown against Gunther in a rare world title main event.

Prediction: Jey Uso def. Logan Paul

CM Punk And Sami Zayn Vs. Seth Rollins And Bron Breakker

CM Punk getting his revenge on Paul Heyman is a long-term story. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakkers’ unnamed group is still establishing itself as a top stable. This is a recipe for a heel win, especially with Sami Zayn in position to take the loss.

WWE is protecting everything within shouting distance of Paul Heyman’s newest heel mentees, and I don’t see any situation where Rollins and Breakker are pinned or made to submit by Punk and Zayn, neither of whom needs the win and both of whom can afford to lose in this situation.

Prediction: Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker def. CM Punk and Sami Zayn

John Cena Vs. R-Truth

John Cena laid out R-Truth with an AA through a table during WWE’s press conference following Backlash. For years, R-Truth (53) has told anybody who bothered to listen that John Cena (48) is his childhood hero. WWE paid this off with babyface Cena on the Raw after WrestleMania in 2024, where Cena made a surprise appearance and helped Awesome Truth defeat Judgment Day.

This time around, however, Heel Cena is in seek-and-destroy mode. Cena vs. Truth has the potential to be a great TV feud with more time dedicated to it. R-Truth as a heartbroken underdog looking to beat some sense into his childhood hero has more potential than anybody realizes. But WWE pulled the trigger on this match very quickly after Cena’s attack on Truth. Given Cena’s limited dates in his retirement tour, this shapes up as a dominant win for Cena over his biggest fan.

Prediction: John Cena def. R-Truth (Quickly)

Zelina Vega Vs. Chelsea Green

Zelina Vega has not been booked well since winning the United States Championship. Last night on SmackDown, Vega took the pinfall in a Triple Threat qualifying match for the women’s Money in the Bank match. Green continues to receive bigger reactions than Vega—in addition to just about every woman on the roster. Vega’s sudden US Title loss was giving “Superstar Billy Graham” when he dropped the title prematurely to the far less popular Bob Backlund.

Vega losing the title so soon after defeating Green would hurt a US Title that still is still being established. After Green so strongly questioned Vega’s ability as champion, a Zelina Vega loss would be crushing.

Prediction: Zelina Vega def. Chelsea Green

Drew McIntyre Vs. Damian Priest

Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest is making a slow-climb as one of WWE’s best blood feuds. Priest has impressed since turning babyface, but he is nowhere near the star of a CM Punk, McIntyre’s previous feud and one of the best feuds of 2024. Still, real-life injuries have added a spark to McIntyre vs. Priest.

McIntyre reportedly suffered a legit eye injury from real glass following a backstage chokeslam by Priest on the March 28 broadcast of SmackDown. McIntyre had another injury scare during another scary chokeslam spot at in the crowd when Drew’s head hit the concrete at Backlash.

This feud feels nowhere close to finished. After losing to McIntyre at WrestleMania, Priest feels due for a win.

Prediction: Damian Preist def. Drew McIntyre
