WWE Raw advertised fallout from SummerSlam 2022, with the Mysterios challenging the Usos for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships. Raw also advertised a pair of Triple Threat matches for the right to battle Bobby Lashley for the WWE United States Championship. Dolph Ziggler, Tommaso Ciampa and Chad Gable competed in one Triple Threat Match while Mustafa Ali, The Miz and AJ Styles competed in the other. WWE Raw went commercial-free for its first hour.
With news of Sasha Banks and Naomi’s impending return to WWE, and a potential tease of a “statement” show, the pair did not return to WWE Raw.
Last week’s broadcast of WWE Raw continued its hot streak with 1.901 million viewers for the start of the Triple H era.

Becky Lynch Opens WWE Raw
Becky Lynch opened WWE Raw wearing a sling stemming from reports that she suffered a shoulder injury during her match against Bianca Belair.
Becky Lynch, who confirmed she separated her shoulder, said she finally remembered who the hell she is solidified a long-awaited babyface turn, one year into a flat heel run.
Not only did Lynch say we’re starting a new era, she even all but confirmed the return of The Man.
Becky Lynch was attacked backstage, prompting a possible Sasha Banks and Naomi return to confront Bayley’s new faction.
AJ Styles def. The Miz and Mustafa Ali
If Mustafa Ali was to win this match, it would be another indication of a new era in WWE, but sadly Ali may be damaged goods in WWE at this point, and I’m not holding my breath.
The Miz wore a name badge that read “Hello, My Balls are Massive” on the front of his trunks.
Say what you will about it, but the “tiny balls” chant was over tonight.
This match had an unbelievable finish as Mustafa Ali connected with a 450 Splash, only to immediately get caught in a Styles Clash.
Seth Rollins def. Montez Ford
While gloating about taking out Riddle, Seth Rollins said now it’s time to turn his attention to Roman Reigns and the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. He was then promptly interrupted by the Street Profits.
Rollins suggested that the Street Profits break up as WWE continues to tease just that for the long-tenured tag team.
While deciding which one of the Street Profits should face Seth Rollins, during a game of R0-Sham-Bo, Montez Ford cheated by sprinting to the ring with a referee.
Throughout this close-but-no-cigar match for Montez Ford, the announcers continued to play up Ford getting frustrated after repeat nearfalls.
Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss Ends in Disqualification
Corey Graves spent much of this match suggesting that Alexa Bliss and Asuka are shells of themselves. He said Alexa Bliss wasn’t even the same Bliss the last time she was champion, and how Asuka is a “glimpse of the Empress of Tomorrow.
Bliss and Asuka were jumped by Bayley, Iyo Shirai and Dakota Kai, suggesting Bliss and Asuka are going to be her tag team partners in a potential trios match.
Tommaso Ciampa def. Dolph Ziggler and Chad Gable
Chad Gale delivered another solid promo on his way to the ring, where he took a shot at the Houston Astros and received massive heat.
Dissension started between Tommaso Ciampa and Chad Gable when Ciampa told Gable to “shoosh.”
Ciampa, who got to cut a backstage promo, received new theme music and a win in another very good Triple Threat Match. Reports of Tommaso Ciampa’s revival were not exaggerated.
Edge Appears Live
Edge walked out to his vintage theme music and entrance and it felt so right.
Mike Rome did his best impression of Tony Chimel for Edge’s ring introduction, but nobody can do that entrance justice.
Edge kept this promo relatively short and sweet, vowing to “kill wha he created” and end the Judgment Day.
Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair Ends in a Disqualification
Io Sky has been known to use the 619, but with Bianca Belair on the ropes—and Rey Mysterio wrestling later tonight—she switched it up to flying knees to the back.
Unfortunately, but predictably, this match ended in a disqualification as Asuka, Alexa bliss and Bianca Belair brawled with Bayley, Dakota Kai and Io Sky.
Tommaso Ciampa def. AJ Styles
During Tommaso Ciampa’s backstage promo, The Miz noted Ciampa “did not help [him] beat Logan Paul,” teasing a possible split between Miz and Ciampa.
This up-and-down crowd came alive to chant “tiny balls!” at The Miz.
Booker T appeared on commentary for this match and received one of the biggest ovations of the night from what had mostly been a pretty dead crowd. The camera continuously cut to Booker T while he was delivering commentary.
Tommaso Ciampa beat AJ Styles after receiving help from The Miz, and the push of Tommaso Ciampa was the big story coming out of a pretty uneventful Raw.
The Usos vs. The Mysterios
In front of a weak crowd with very little credibility for the Mysterios and all the credibility in the Usos’ corner, few people seemed to believe the Mysterios had a chance. They were right.
The finish of this match was excellent as Jey Uso made a blind tag and countered Dominik Mysterio’s 619 with a 1D.
Edge came down to make the save for the Mysterios and, despite it being his second appearance, he received a huge reaction. Edge accidentally speared Dominik, setting up a potential feud between Rey and Edge.
