Seth Rollins Kicks Off WWE Raw

Despite his massive heel turn at WrestleMania 41 and his attack on Reigns and Punk the following night on Raw, fans gave Seth Rollins a superstar reaction.

Seth Rollins mentioned CM Punk, who received a surprisingly tepid response. “Some of you are still out there,” Rollins joked in reference to Punk’s fans. Meanwhile, a Roman Reigns reference received a huge “OTC” chant. Weird.

Sami Zayn interrupted Seth, calling him a hypocrite for deriding the Bloodline only to create a Wiseman-led supergroup of his own.

Seth Rollins said he loved Sami. Rollins said he’d help facilitate a trade to SmackDown to face the winner of John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash. Because you’re either with Team Seth or against him.

Backstage, Paul Heyman met with Sami Zayn in a mini Bloodline reunion. Heyman tried to convince Zayn to take up Rollins on his offer.

Rhea Ripley Def. Roxanne Perez By Disqualification

Rhea Ripley was the most over person in the building for the entire show.

Ripley went back-and-forth with Roxanne Perez. Perez worked over Ripley’s leg, and was able to chop down the big tree despite giving away a lot of size in the match.

Giulia failed at costing Ripley the match, and ultimately attacked Rhea’s leg to force the disqualification. Iyo Sky saved Ripley as WWE continued its slow build to Sky vs. Ripley.

Logan Paul Challenges Jey Uso For WWE World Heavyweight Title

Logan Paul, who didn’t receive an entrance outside of a drone, called out Jey Uso after his big WrestleMania win.

Jey Uso appeared (huge pop), and said he wasn’t going to let a YouTuber beat him for his world title.

Logan Paul reminded Jey of his short Intercontinental Championship reign, and vowed to make his world title reign even shorter. Uso, who recently had some words for Jason Momoa, superkicked Paul mid-sentence as he Yeeted to end the segment.

War Raiders Def. Judgment Day

Backstage, Liv Morgan booked JD McDonagh and Finn Balor in a tag team match against the War Raiders for a chance to become No. 1 Contender’s against the New Day. McDonagh accepted the match behind Balor’s back as tension within the Judgment Day simmered.

After talking over the War Raiders’ ring introduction—and over each other early, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were hilarious on commentary throughout this match.

The New Day roasted Erik for not having any hair, and mocked Pat McAfee for knowing less about the wrestling business than they did.

Ivar got cheers for his high-risk maneuvers as he always does.

The New Day were taken out after colliding with the Judgment Day. Penta interfered and got revenge on JD by crotching him on the ropes as the War Raiders picked up the win.

Becky Lynch Brawls With Lyra Valkyria

Once again, Kansas City cheered a superstar heel. This time, it was Becky Lynch despite her turning heel last week. This crowd was all about star power over storytelling.

Becky Lynch opened her promo by admitting to attacking Bayley. For her troubles, Lynch got booed (slightly.)

Lynch mocked Bayley for wearing everybody’s shirts and dancing to everybody’s music while still whining about not being a bigger star. Lynch said Bayley got to see what a real star looks like at WrestleMania.

The Man said the friend of her enemy is her enemy. That’s why she attacked Bayley’s tag team partner Lyra. That’s why she “ditched that b—h.”

Lyra Valkyria interrupted and asked “do you know how many women in that locker room warned me about you?”

Fans weren’t into Lyra nearly as much as they were Becky. In fact, they peppered Babyface Lyra with “what” chants.

Lynch ran away from Lyra as Lyra charged in. Lyra got Kansas City on her side by asking if they wanted to see a fight. Lynch got the crowd to turn on her even more when she refused to fight in Kansas City.

Valkyria got the better of Becky in a brawl, thereby getting the crowd on her side for good. Lynch got the last laugh, attacking Lyra from behind to a chorus of boos.

Rusev Calls AEW The Abyss; Stephanie Vaquer Def. Ivy Nile

Rusev cut a great backstage promo about how he fell into the “abyss” on his way back to AEW and redeemed himself. I guess the A in AEW stands for “Abyss.”

Chad Gable, wearing an El Grande Americano t-shirt, made mention of Penta’s brother by saying his favorite WrestleMania moment was El Grande Americano’s win over Fenix. Penta attacked Gable for this, and mentioned the Lucha Brothers.

Very few talent this generation have gotten over as quickly as Stephanie Vaquer. Fans popped when she attempted the Devil’s Kiss, and booed loudly as Nile broke it up. Fans were rewarded for their patience, because not only did Vaquer connect with the Devil’s Kiss before the break, she gave them another one coming out of break as well.

The match received “this is awesome chants.” Vaquer shined as usual, but Ivy Nile kept up as well. Stephanie hit the SVB for the win.

Pat McAfee Challenges Gunther For WWE Backlash 2025

Pat McAfee cut a great promo on Gunther, saying McAfee forgot who he was for a moment. McAfee ultimately remembered who he was, saying he came from a truck driver who lived paycheck-to-paycheck, and is blessed to grow up with great friends and family who care for him. It was like the frat boy version of the Hard Times promo.

McAfee said he hopes that when he’s gone, people said he gave back to his community and was an empathetic man. McAfee shouted out underprivileged communities, homeless shelters and LGBTQ communities in referencing all the charity work he’s done.

McAfee turned up by saying he hopes when he’s gone people say he was a loyal motherf—ker. Fans loved this line, chanting “McAfee!”

McAfee said there has been one man who has been with him since he met him, and that just happens to be the greatest of all time: Michael Cole.

McAfee called Gunther an Austrian A-hole, and said when Gunther put his hands on Cole, McAfee had no other option but to protect his boy.

McAfee dropped another F-Bomb when talking about ignoring advice from his friends telling him not to provoke Gunther. McAfee called out “the SmackDown version of Adam Pearce,” as Nick Aldis told McAfee to keep it professional.

Pat said he didn’t like that Adam Pearce suspended Gunther. Pat said he wanted to fight Gunther ASAP. If Pat dies, he dies.

Aldis suggested Pat McAfee vs. Gunther at Backlash. Pat accepted. Another home-run segment from McAfee.

Backstage, Jey Uso met briefly with Sami Zayn. He was then knocked out by Logan Paul.

Pat McAfee Promo Grade: A

Sami Zayn Denies Seth Rollins; Bron Breakker Def. Zayn

Seth Rollins continued to try to convince Sami that the only way forward is by supporting Seth and his new group. Seth said Sami, like most wrestlers, probably has less than five friends in this business.

Rollins talked about the great advice he gave him after becoming a new dad. Rollins now wants to return the favor by giving Sami a piece of advice “that could save your life.”

Rollins threatened Sami by saying if he stays on Raw, and doesn’t listen to Paul Heyman, bad things are going to happen to him.

“As a friend,” Sami Zayn cut a fiery promo where he vowed to become a world champion without Sami’s help. As a friend, Zayn told Seth Rollins to go to hell. With that, Bron Breakker walked out in full gear alongside Paul Heyman.

Bron Breakker (in full gear) mauled a game Sami Zayn (in street clothes) with two Spears. A conflicted Seth Rollins turned sadistic at this point, telling Sami “it doesn’t have to be this way.”

After Zayn told Rollins to “go to hell,” Breakker hit a third Spear. The unsymathetic Kansas City crowd barked for Bron as Chad Patton checked on Sami Zayn, calling for EMT’s. As the EMT’s checked on Sami, fans chanted “one more time!” Fans cheered as Breakker hit a 360 Spear. His fourth Spear on Zayn to the tune of even more T-Mobile Barking barking and chants of “one more time!”

Patton called for the bell as Breakker beat Zayn via TKO. Fans kept chanting “one more time!”

When Sami turns heel, he’ll have every reason to do so after how much these fans cheered for his downfall.

Rollins polished off Zayn with a Stomp. Fans sang Seth’s song as Raw went off the air. Poor Sami.
