WWE Raw Results, Winners And Grades As Jey Uso Melts Down

WWE Raw advertised two semifinals matches for the John Cena “Last Time is Now” tournament. Jey Uso battled LA Knight in a losing effort. Jey Uso teased a heel turn with a Bret Hart-like temper tantrum, tossing over the PRIME Hydration cart. Meanwhile, teacher’s pet Gunther toppled Solo Sikoa for a silver-plattered spot in the finals. As if he needs it.

WWE Survivor Series 2025 Fallout And Follow Up On The Hooded Figure

WWE Raw followed up on multiple storylines coming out of WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2025, including a short-lived celebration from Team Rhea after the babyfaces won the women’s WarGames match. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss challenged Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky to become No. 1 Contender for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Following Jey Uso’s loss to LA Knight, Jey took out his frustration on a PRIME Hydration cart, teasing a heel turn. Headed into WrestleMania season on a roster stacked with babyfaces, turning Jey Uso heel wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. But given the merch he sells, and the fact that he has the best babyface entrance in the business, a Jey Uso heel turn feels unnecessary.

The biggest mystery coming out of Survivor Series was who is the hooded figure? Speculation has run wild with guesses ranging from Austin Theory to Chris Jericho. WWE wants fans to think it’s Seth Rollins after the hooded figure delivered a Curb Stomp to CM Punk, but that was clearly a red herring.

WWE Raw Live Results And Highlights

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky Open The Show

  • The team of Rhiyo celebrated their win and called out the Kabuki Warriors for a tag team title shot. Rhiyo was interrupted by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
  • The former teammates argued over who should be first in line for a Women’s Tag Team Championship shot. Charlotte and Alexa challenged Rhiyo for a No. 1 Contender’s match in the main event, and the crowd went crazy for this.
  • It’s hard to imagine that WWE will keep these four top stars locked up in the women’s tag team division. A Charlotte/Alexa split should come sooner rather than later. Possibly as soon as tonight.

WWE Raw Opening Segment Grade: B-

LA Knight Def. Jey Uso As Jey Throws a Temper Tantrum

  • WWE aired an inevitable all-women’s commercial for WrestleMania 42, making fools out of those who made their obligatory DEI complaints and should have known better.
  • Jey Uso took most of the match, but LA Knight hung in withe several strikes that got the people going with “Yeah!” chants.
  • Jey Uso hit a triple whammy of offense on LA Knight capped off by an Uso Splash. LA Knight countered Jey’s pinfall with a pin of his own, scoring a sudden victory. The camera zoomed in on Jey Uso and stayed on him as he sold the loss like a frustrated heel.
  • Jey’s music shut off and fans rallied behind Jey. Jey lost it and destroyed the PRIME cart. If WWE was trying to turn Jey Uso heel, then destroying a PRIME cart was the wrong move. Given how hated Logan Paul is, fans cheered for this spot.

LA Knight vs. Jey Uso Match Grade: B-

Dominik Mysterio And Liv Morgan Reunite On Raw

  • Dominik Mysterio, joined by the Judgment Day, claimed that he’s the greatest Mysterio of all time, and also the greatest of all time after beating John Cena. Dirty Dom introduced his Juarita Liv Morgan. Morgan received a big babyface reaction after proclaiming she was back.
  • Somebody said something derogatory, and Dom improvised by saying “we’re not doing any of that.”
  • Liv Morgan said since she’s been gone, she’s been hearing the Judgment Day is weak. They’ve lost some of its gold. The Judgment Day is falling apart. She didn’t have to hear this, Raw airs live on Netflix every week. Liv said Judgment Day will run Raw, and Finn Balor didn’t seem too pleased while standing quietly in the background. Liv slapped Dom, then jumped into his arms as the segment ended. Liv Morgan resurfaced later on in the night to put WWE women’s world champion Stephanie Vaquer on notice.
  • After the segment, there was an amazing cinematic segment between Natalya and WWE Women’s Intercontinental champion Maxxine Dupri. Natalya ran drills with Maxxine until she could barely stand. Natalya repeatedly screamed “again!” It was the best segment on the show.

Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan Segment Grade: C+

AJ Styles And Dragon Lee Def. The New Day

  • AJ Styles rolled up Kofi Kingston into a calf crusher early on, but Xavier Woods made the save.
  • Woods ran wild with a clothesline in the corner on Dragon Lee followed by a dive to the outside. Not to be outdone, Kofi hit Dragon Lee with a running dropkick in the corner while Lee was upside down.
  • Styles came to the rescue. He suplexed Kofi on the top rope, followed by a double stomp from Dragon Lee on Kofi, which propelled Kofi into a Styles Clash. This spot has to be seen to be believed.

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee vs. The New Day Match Grade: B+

Paul Heyman And The Vision Celebrate

  • Paul Heyman shouted out the entire heel side of the WarGames match. Logan Paul, Bronson Red and Bron Breakker joined Heyman and the Vision. Logan received the most heat by an desert mile.
  • Paul Heyman announced that CM Punk will face Bron Breakker in the first Raw of the year on January 5, 2025. This threw cold water on yet another faulty report from Dave Meltzer, who is easily one of the worst journalist in any media of all time.
  • Bron Breakker cut a heated promo on CM Punk before dropping the mic and storming off. Backstage, a dejected Jey Uso was short with Jackie Redmond. He said Roman was right. The titles looked better on him. Jey is down bad right now.

The Vision Segment Grade: B

Gunther Vs. Solo Sikoa In John Cena “Last Time Is Now’” Tournament

  • The Heel vs. Heel match had very little heat early. Poor Solo Sikoa didn’t even get a TV entrance. Solo landed the first big shot on Gunther that took the big man off his feet, and the crowd actually popped. Solo Sikoa felt like the de facto babyface of the match.
  • Gunther executed a picture-perfect superplex to get back into the match. There were light “this is awesome” chants as the heel match continued struggle to get strong reactions.
  • Gunther and Solo willed the crowd into this match with a series of stiff back-and-forth chops. The exchange ended when both men struck each other simultaneously and took a bump before the final commercial break of the match.
  • Gunther targeted Solo’s thumb when Raw came back from break. The psychology was to wound Sikoa to prevent him from doing the Samoan Spike. Gunther stretched Solo’s arm and thumb, but Solo responded with a Samoan Drop. Solo tried the Spike, but Gunther fired back with an avalanche of chops.
  • Gunther ran into a Spinning Solo Slam followed by a flying splash for a highly believable nearfall. The Desert Diamond Arena was really heating up at this point. Talla Tonga got involved and tried to hold down Gunther for a Samoan Spike. Gunther fought off Talla and hit Solo with a mule kick. Back in the ring, Gunther kicked Solo in his Samoan sack and pinned him with a powerbomb. Awesome meat match.
  • After the match, Last Time is Now finalists Gunther and LA Knight exchanged words in the ring.

Gunther vs. Solo Sikoa Match Grade: B+

Rhiyo Vs. Charlotte Flair And Alexa Bliss Ends In A DQ

  • The got its first big reaction when Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley faced off. Fans sided with Ripley as Charlotte and Rhea gave them their money’s worth and then some. Charlotte got the better of Rhea with DDT followed by a super kick on Ripley.
  • Alexa Bliss got in on the fun with offense on both Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. Iyo tagged in, but Alexa quickly took control with a Twisted Bliss. Rhea broke it up.
  • Back in the ring, Alexa went for a Sister Abigail on Ripley. Ripley counted with Riptide followed by a moonsault from Iyo. Charlotte speared Rhea into the pinfall, breaking it up.
  • The Kabuki Warriors hit the ring with all four women on the mat. Fans were pissed at the main event for a second WWE broadcast in a row. Lyra Valkyria and Bayley hit the ring, with four tag teams now going to war. Liv Morgan came out of nowhere and mauled both Kairi Sky and Iyo. Raquel and Roxanne hit the ring and laid waste to Asuka and Bayley.
  • Raquel and Roxanne picked up the tag team titles. Roxanne handed Liv the title, but Liv gave it back as she raised Roxanne and Raquel’s hands.
