WWE and streaming service DAZN have partnered to promote Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, which is being billed as the biggest women’s boxing event in history. Taylor vs. Serrano emanates from New York City this Saturday, April 30, in the first women’s boxing match to ever headline Madison Square Garden.
“What did DAZN do when they began brainstorming promotional ideas for the biggest women’s fight of all time? Naturally, they called WWE, the sports entertainment giant with a proven track record of building the biggest women’s Superstars in the world,” said DAZN in a press release.
“Beyond the fact that WWE has a rich history in promoting women inside the ring and developing its Superstars into household names and larger-than-life characters, there were synergies that were too perfect to ignore.”
As women’s combat sports continue to take flight, WWE and DAZN are putting this synergy to good use. WWE top stars Becky Lynch and current Raw women’s champion Bianca Belair will each lead Team Serrano and Team Taylor, respectively. Lynch and Belair are coming off an instant classic at WrestleMania 38 that was arguably the greatest women’s match in the history of WWE’s biggest event.
No strangers to history in their own right, Lynch became the first woman to headline WrestleMania alongside Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35. Two years later, at WrestleMania 37, Belair and Sasha Banks became the first two Black women to headline a WrestleMania in an ESPY-award-winning match.
With Lynch leading Team Taylor and Belair leading Team Serrano, 10 total WWE Superstars will be promoting the event on social media. A breakdown of each team, and the social media following of its members, is featured in the image below.

Fittingly, Team Taylor features three Irish stars—Lynch, Sheamus and Finn Balor—to back the Irish-born boxer, while Team Serrano features two Puerto Rican WWE Superstars in Damian Priest and Queen Zelina.
WWE’s latest partnership will reach a potential audience of more than 75 million on social media via the 10 Superstars’ curated posts promoting the April 30 event. Posts begin on Wednesday and continue through fight night.
WWE will also use its official channels, reaching well over 150 million subscribers and followers.
Belair and Lynch will attend the official weigh-in at MSG this Friday, April 29. The two top Raw stars will also help promote the fight across several other platforms, including conversations with each fighter that will debut on WWE’s YouTube channel and social platforms today, April 27. The winner of the historic fight will receive a custom Raw Women’s Championship.
WWE’s business has only continued to soar under President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan, who quickly showcased a knack of fostering lucrative deals. A mere months into the job, the former CAA agent anchored a billion-dollar deal by leasing the WWE Network to Peacock. In 2021, WWE unlocked a historic achievement in its first year to gross over a billion dollars in revenue.
WWE and DAZN is the next in a long line of partnerships that include Pizza Hut, A&E and Netflix. Taylor (20-0-0, 6 KOs) vs. Serrano (42-1-1, 30 KOs) streams live on DAZN this Saturday, April 30.
