WWE Has ‘Falling Out’ With Travis Scott, Scraps ‘WWE 2K25’ Plans

WWE and rapper Travis Scott appear to be going their separate ways after a short-lived partnership gone awry.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Insider-Gaming), “Scott and the WWE had a ‘falling out’ in recent months. This led to his removal as a surprise celebrity DLC character for WWE 2K25.”

Scott infamously played a major role in one of the biggest heel turns in pro wrestling history at Elimination Chamber in 2025. That’s when WWE finally pulled the trigger on a long-awaited move to the dark side for Cena, who shockingly aligned with The Rock and Scott to form a trio of super villains. Or so WWE fans thought.

Scott did show up again at WrestleMania 41 to help Cena defeat Cody Rhodes and cement his heel status. Then, poof. The Grammy-nominated rapper seemingly disappeared into thin air.

In recent weeks, multiple reports emerged shedding light on Scott’s seemingly sudden disappearance from WWE programming after he played a key role in one of the most shocking moments in WWE’s storied history. Although the “Fein” rapper was tentivaley planned to step into the ring as part of his storyline with Cena, WrestleVotes (h/t SEScoops) reported that Scott was “not a quick learner” for pro wrestling while the Observer (h/t WrestlingNews.co) noted that he was “half-in” and did not fully commit to his in-ring training.

Soon enough, the writing was on the wall for Scott’s brief tenure in WWE. Despite his presence at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 41, Scott’s reported half-hearted efforts to improve his in-ring skills in preparation for a blockbuster celebrity tag team match caused WWE to turn elsewhere for celebrity involvement at SummerSlam.

In stepped rapper and country singer Jelly Rolly, who is now set to team with Randy Orton to take on Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at WWE’s first-ever two-night SummerSlam in MetLife Stadium. The Observer added that it is considered to be “open season” for WWE stars to criticize Scott following his reported falling out, and ironically enough, it is McIntyre who is leading the charge.

Earlier this week, McIntyre lit into Scott with some NSFW criticisms of the rapper, a sign that WWE’s relationship with Scott was on the ropes. That also explains why Scott went from being involved in one of the biggest moments in WrestleMania’s 41-year history to being a non-factor and complete afterthought.

Scott’s soured relationship withth WWE and the subsequent cancellation of major WWE 2K25 plans for the star are just the latest signs that his brief and totally random pairing with Cena failed to produce the desired results. Of course, Scott’s initial partnership with Cena raised eyebrows because it felt more like a desperate attention-seeking ploy than the start of a legitimate long-term story arc.

Celebrities in pro wrestling are nothing new, and many celebrities-turned-wrestlers, including Paul and Bad Bunny, clearly committed themselves to learning the craft and delivering memorable in-ring performances. Now, WWE fans may never get to see whether Scott would have joined those ranks.

Instead, Scott will be remembered for showing up in WWE’s most shocking moment of the decade, executing a punch-gone-wrong on Rhodes and delivering a vanishing act for the ages.
