Welcome back Wordle Warriors! I hope you had a wonderful and Wordle-filled weekend. I’ve been meaning to ask readers what other puzzle games they’re playing these days. Do you Quordle or Dordle? Nerdle or Heardle? Let me know what you like to play either in the comments below or on Twitter or Facebook!
I pretty much stick to Wordle these days. I don’t have much time beyond that as I write quite a lot, make videos for my YouTube channel, play Call Of Duty with my kids and my friends, play other games for reviews, watch a ton of TV shows which I review, and try to fit in workouts when I’m not doing all that. And chores. And kid stuff.
I’m never bored, let’s just put it that way. Tired? Always. Bored? Never.
Alright, let’s get to this Wordle! It’s kind of a tricky one!
Today’s Wordle
The Warning: Careful, travelers, there’s spoilers in these here parts.
The Hint: What do cold and fast have in common?
The Clue: There’s but one vowel in this word.
The Answer:
This is a tricky word because there are so many possibilities at any given point. I was once again phenomenally lucky in my opening guess, narrowing the 2,309 possible solutions down to just five—the same as yesterday! I’m on a streak!
Unlike yesterday’s word, however, I didn’t even try for a two-guess win. BR__K left me with enough obvious options that I figured I’d be better off narrowing them down. At this point I could think of several words: brick, brink, brisk, brook all came to mind (though another—brusk—was apparently also an option. What’s that mean, you ask? I had to look it up: It’s just another way to spell brusque, meaning “marked by rude or peremptory shortness”).
With these four words in mind, I thought of one that could narrow down the vowel and some of the consonants. Coils took care of the question of the ‘I’ or ‘O’ and the ‘C’ (in brick) and ‘S’ (in brisk). If neither the ‘C’ or the ‘S’ had been right, I would have gone with brink but since the ‘S’ was yellow and the ‘I’ green I knew brisk would be the correct answer. I’d have been stumped if neither ‘I’ nor ‘O’ had been correct, since brusk would not have leaped to mind.
Fortunately, brisk was correct and now I’m the king of the world! Huzzah!
