Wordle Today #440 Answer, Hint And Clues — Friday September 2nd Word Of The Day

Well it’s Friday at last, TGIF and all that jazz!

I’m actually hosting some guests today for a Rings Of Power party so I’ll keep this guide brief (I have slow-cook pork-and-chicken green chili going, some queso that needs to be made and soon I’ll be playing host, so forgive my brevity).

Let’s take a look at today’s Wordle. We’re just 60 away from #500, which means we’re just 60 days away from Halloween!

The Clue: There’s but one vowel in this word.

The Answer:

So this one took me five whole guesses for whatever reason. I suppose ogres wasn’t the best opening guess, though Wordle Bot said it was “distinct” and that less than .01% of Wordlers use it. So that’s neat!

From here, each guess got me closer but none of them were really slam dunks. Rainy got me one more yellow box. Fraud pushed the ‘A’ into green, leaving me with just four remaining options.

I probably should have guessed charm before alarm but alarm popped into my head first and I went with it instinctively. It wasn’t a bad guess, and it narrowed my remaining options down to one.

Which worked, as they say, like a charm.
