Wordle Today #425 Answer, Hint And Clues — Thursday, August 18th

Well, we’re officially mid-August at this point. The days and weeks keep flying by. Some days, I wake up and before I know it I’m back in my bed and it’s midnight and I’m exhausted and I’m not sure what I even got done all day long. Projects, work, parenting, dog-parenting, errands, chores. The wheel spins and we race gerbil like in an endless, fruitless motion.

Okay, perhaps not fruitless. We move the proverbial dial. We inch forward. We change. We strive and struggle. Two weeks ago I started a healthy living quest, abandoning some bad habits and throwing myself into working out and healthier eating. In less than 14 days I’ve lost 13 lbs and counting, and I’m starting to feel a lot better. But man it is tiring to get back in shape!

Then there’s everything we have to look forward to: Some truly exciting TV shows are in the offing, with HBO’s Game Of Thrones spinoff House Of The Dragon airing this coming Sunday. I’ll be reviewing here on this blog, so be sure to follow me if you’re interested in that show. Which you should be, trust me . . . .

Today’s Wordle #425 Answer, Hint & Clue

Yes, there be spoilers ‘round these parts, ya here? Grrrrr.

The Hint: It gives country music that special gravy.

The Clue: There is only one vowel in this word.

The Answer:

Three guesses really isn’t bad, but I must admit getting to that third guess took a very, very long time. Partly this was because I hadn’t eliminated any other vowels beyond ‘A’ (which I got in green from drake) and ‘E’ which was greyed out. With so many remaining vowel options I had the hardest time coming up with a word that only featured the one.

But here’s the thing: I guessed drake because of House of the Dragon coming out this Sunday. Then I guessed blast which got me that yellow ‘T’ but after that I was completely stumped. I assumed the ‘T’ would go in the first spot since the ‘E’ and ‘S’ that could follow it after box #5 were gone. ‘H’ was also a possibility, however, so I tried coming up with words that ended in ‘ATH’ and words that started with ‘THA’ and then words with ‘TIA’ (but tiara wasn’t an option since the ‘R’ had been eliminated).

This took me quite some time of juggling letters and I almost went with a vowel-eliminating word like audio before I stuck the ‘W’ after the ‘T’ and realized that twang was a possible solution. Lucky for me, it was!
