With the acquisition of Bow Tie, AMC Theatre will operate in Connecticut, Maryland, and NY

Movie theatre chain AMC Entertainment has made a deal after which it will now expand its reach to several other regions of the country.

AMC Theaters, the world’s largest movie theatre chain, has made a deal with Bow Tie Cinemas. As per the deal now, AMC Theatres will be able to take advantage of operating Bow Tie Cinemas theatres at seven different locations in Connecticut, Annapolis, MD, upstate New York City, etc. This would make an additional 66 screens under the AMC Theaters chain. 

There was a time when Bow Tie used to operate at one point, the late Ziegfeld Theater located in New York City, which opened in 1969 and, after a long service, closed in 2016. Bow Tie is among the oldest theatre chains stateside. That has its beginning date in 1900 and is now having been owned by the third and fourth generations of the same founding family. 

Besides the acquisition of theatres by AMC at several locations, Bow Tie will continue operating its theatres in New Haven, CT; Richmond, VA; Ridgewood, NJ; Basalt, CO and Manhattan. The theatre company plans to expand into the Luxury Entertainment Centre business and additional cinema locations. 

Acquisitions of Bow Tie venues by AMD Theaters in Connecticut include the Rayle 6, Marquis 16, SoNo 8 9foremrly known as Regent 8), Landmark 8 and Majestic 6, which will now increase the share of cinemas of AMC in the Constitution State region by more than two times. 

AMC has gained Saratoga Springs 11 of the Bow tie in upstate New York and Annapolis Mall 11 in Annapolis. The circuit will keep the employees already working intact at all the locations as understood by the sources. Marquis 16, Majestic 6, Landmark 8 and Annapolis Mall 11 are scheduled to open by the weekend of April 21st, whereas the others are scheduled for reopening at the month-end.

Many of the popular amenities of the theatre chain and the Stubs A-List loyalty program of AMC will go into effect consequently. In recent years, Royale 6, Majestic 6, Marquis 16, Landmark 8 and Annapolis Mall 11 were cleaned up with amenities like recliner seats. Saratoga Springs 11, Majestic 6, Majestic 16 and Annapolis Mall 11 will have PLF screens.
