WWE NXT Stand and Deliver kicked off WrestleMania Saturday with a loaded match card as every NXT title was on the line. The NXT pay-per-view, from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, saw three title changes, with both the men’s and women’s NXT champions, Dolph Ziggler and Mandy Rose, retaining their championships.
This week’s go-home show for NXT Stand and Deliver garnered a viewership of 626,000.

WWE NXT Stand and Deliver Results | Saturday, April 2, 2022
Cameron Grimes def. Carmelo Hayes, Solo Sikoa, Grayson Waller and Santos Escobar—Ladder Match for the WWE NXT North American Championship
Carmelo Hayes was a superstar throughout this match. Cameron Grimes was the obvious sentimental favorite, but Hayes deserved to win just on effort alone. Santos Escobar, seemingly paying homage to Randy Savage, was a close second.
Fans were really into chanting “Uso!” for Solo Sikola. I wonder how many of them watch NXT and how many actually think he’s Jimmy or Jay.
The match came screeching to a halt when Sanga entered to split the ladder in half, and after awkwardly taking offense from Legado del Fantasma, they won the crowd back when Elektra Lopez performed a lucha dive on Grayson Waller.
Grayson Waller, who was heavily booed, was faced with a decision to become viral or become NXT North American. He chose to attempt to become viral by winning the NXT North American Championship. Grayson later went viral by doing a ladder jump where he grazed the ladder and landed most of his weight on his right leg.
Fans were really hot for Cameron Grimes to win this match which he did. It was never going to live up to the gold standard of NXT ladder matches—NXT TakeOver New Orleans—but it wasn’t for a lack of effort.
Tony D’Angelo def. Tommaso Ciampa
Tommaso Ciampa was described as one of the “pillars” of NXT.
Tony D’Angelo walked out with AJ Galante, and I have a feeling this is the first of many goons we’ll see.
There were a pair of well-done nearfalls as both Tony D’Angelo and Tommaso Ciampa kicked out of each others’ finishers.
Fans were shocked when the referee counted “three.” Ciampa was showered by chants of “Thank you Ciampa.” Ciampa was then surprised by an appearance by Triple H.
MSK def. The Creed Brothers and IMPERIUM—WWE NXT Tag Team Championship
It was great to see MSK get the respect they deserve in a more packed, less petty, building.
MSK came away with the win, but there was no reveal of who attacked the Creed Brothers. I expect the assailants to be revealed this Tuesday, as MSK.
One of the best spots of this match came via cannonball from Brutus Creed.
Joe Gacy cut a very topical promo on JFK’s assassination at Dealey Plaza, and now he intends to unite people. I liked him better when he was a spoof on Gen Z.
Mandy Rose def. Io Shirai, Cora Jade and Kay Lee Ray—WWE NXT Women’s Championship
Cora Jade was accompanied by the Devotion Skateboard Company and this crowd was into it. A far cry from those “You can’t skate” chants down in Orlando.
Mandy Rose also received a WrestleMania entrance as she descended from a podium that was apparently lent to her by Bad News Barrett.
Mandy Rose and Cora Jade a very uneasy delayed suplex, but ultimately they pulled it off. Moments later, poor Io Shirai slipped while putting on a Texas Cloverleaf.
With so many main roster fans in the building, the crowd was torn between Io Shirai and Mandy Rose.
Gunther def. LA Knight
Gunther’s chops won’t ring nearly as loud in the American Airlines Arena as they did in the Performance Center.
The crowd started showing fatigue at this point, however there certainly was support for both LA Knight and Gunther, whom this crowd called WALTER.
This match reminds me of The Rock vs. Stone Cold at WrestleMania 19, except with LA Knight playing the role of The Rock and Stone Cold.
Dolph Ziggler def. Bron Breakker—WWE NXT Championship
Bron Breakker had a great chainsaw entrance where he sawed the colorful NXT logo in half. Breakker’s goggles looked like Oakley’s, and that was hardly a coincidence.
Dolph Ziggler has gone back to his 2011 trunks, which is fitting because 2011 is the last time he felt like this big of a star in WWE.
As expected, this was another split-crowd match.
This was definitely a very good, WWE-styled main event in NXT, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Dolph Ziggler winning will set off alarms that Bron Breakker is getting called up.
