WWE SmackDown on FS1 advertised the return of Roman Reigns, the Brawlin’ Brutes vs. Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa and Hit Row and a mystery partner vs. Legado Del Fantasma. Both SmackDown and AEW Rampage are set to face stiff competition from the MLB World Series, which is also the cause for SmackDown being bumped to FS1.
Last week’s broadcast of WWE SmackDown garnered 2.231 million viewers.

WWE SmackDown Winners and Match Card
Brawlin’ Brutes def. Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa
With a dissension storyline between Jey Uso and Sami Zayn dominating the narrative of this match, I’ll be surprised of Zayn and Solo Sikoa come away with the win.
Right on cue, the Brawlin’ Brutes won after Sami Zayn got rolled up. This brought out Roman Reigns and a real “Daddy’s home” scenario in the worst way.
Roman Reigns Addresses The Bloodline
Jey Uso screamed the words “I don’t give a damn what the Tribal Chief thinks!” and the Tribal Chief gimmick has been protected so much, it got a huge “oooh” pop. Fans even chanted “you f—ed up!” In order to get pops like that, AEW has to reference real-life backstage scenarios and WWE.
Dami Zayn told Roman Reigns that Jey Uso wasn’t feeling very “Ucey,” and neither Jey Uso nor Roman Reigns could hold in their laughter. Both spent the rest of the segment trying their damndest not to laugh. Wade Barrett later had to cover for Jey by saying he was so heartbroken he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
The New Day def. Maximum Male Models
Had the New Day lost this match, it may have been the lowest point of their run to this point.
The New Day’s contract is up in 2024, so WWE may want to start the “negotiation” process by booking them in more meaningful matches.
Ronda Rousey def. Emma
Emma was a pleasant surprise, but it’s been too long since her peak NXT days for many of these fans to know who she was. The “pop” was clearly piped in.
If this were a tryout for Emma, I’d say she passed with flying colors.
Hit Row and Shinsuke Nakamura def. Legado Del Fantasma
While Wade Barrett was putting over Legado del Fantasma, he was interrupted by an overlay promo for Bray Wyatt. By the time they returned to the broadcast, he was wrapping up his monologue about Legado.
This match took forever to get started after taking a commercial to tease the surprise partner.
Shinsuke Nakamura made two surprise returns in just over a week, and while fans were happy to see him back on SmackDown, it was nothing compared to the pop he received in NXT.
Top Dolla showed off his Lucha skills by walking the top rope. He’s as agile as a man his size gets.
Karrion Kross def. Madcap Moss
Karrion Kross’ entrance is such a boost for this act. I always thought it wouldn’t be as impressive in larger venues, but it definitely is.
Fans continue to take their time coming around to Karrion Kross, but Madcap Moss’ comeback really woke them up. If WWE gave fans any reason—literally any single reason—to care about Madcap Moss, he’ll be a huge star.
Scarlett’s was dressed as a Gothic Christmas Tree.
Karrion Kross continued to leave on his Kross Jacket submission while cutting a promo on Drew McIntyre. It was a flex that also got him a good amount of heat.
Bray Wyatt Appears Live
Bray Wyatt received a big pop as this gimmick and storyline remains fresh.
Between Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns and Karrion Kross, it felt like at least half this show was spent on entrances.
Fans chanted “welcome back” even though Bray has been back for three weeks now.
Wyatt said he’s going to do some spectacular things while he’s here. I believe him, but he sure is taking his time. Wyatt appeared to forget his lines at one point and he may or may not have looked at his wrist to read them.
A masked individual dressed like the Mad Hatter came onscreen to call Bray Wyatt a liar. He introduced himself as Bray’s Uncle Howdy.
