Brock Lesnar and Elimination Chamber Combatants Kick off WWE Raw

Riddle and his “Bro-ga” were more over than anything in this segment until Brock Lesnar showed up.

Just hours after criticizing the current generation of WWE Superstars on the “Pat McAfee Show,” in an entertaining interview, Brock Lesnar made mincemeat of Austin Theory and even took a selfie for good measure.

This segment featured commentary from Tommaso Ciampa and even a clip of Ziggler’s NXT appearance last week. It might have been the most promotion for NXT 2.0 on Raw I’ve ever seen.

Ciampa noted he hasn’t been on Raw in “a while,” and the pregnant pause that ensued convinced me the announce team completely forgot about his brief run on the main roster. Can you blame them?

Dolph Ziggler superkicked Ciampa and he sold it like there was “water in his eye,” in the words of Jimmy Smith.

Damian Priest def. AJ Styles

In true Damian Priest fashion, Damian Priest picked up a career win, but only after taking multiple baffling losses.

Tamina, who was planning to crash a friendly date between Dana Brooke and Reggie, had the line of the night to this point while in disguise alongside Akira Tozawa. Tozawa asked her what she wanted to eat, and she replied “we’re not here to eat, we’re here to ruin everything.”

Lita and Becky Lynch Face Off

Becky Lynch’s feud with Lita is the first time Becky has come off as an actual heel, right down to the crowd finally booing her and siding with her opponent. That’s what it takes to get the heel reaction Becks has been going for, a WWE Hall of Famer.

Becky Lynch dressed disheveled and tried to guilt trip Lita into not signing the contract, and her down-in-the-dumps gimmick appears likely to continue into their match at Elimination Chamber.

Bianca Belair Wins Elimination Chamber Gauntlet

Rhea Ripley won her last match against Nikki A.S.H., which bodes well for Nikki A.S.H. to get a 50/50 win.

There were about three dedicated fans trying to get a “let’s go Rhea!” chant going, but other than that, the crowd took this match off.

Unfortunately, Ripley and A.S.H. botched a Riptide counter before going to the finish.

Rhea Ripley received the Seth Rollins treatment, going over 40 minutes and defeating three opponents in a row.

Alpha Academy def. The Mysterios

Chad Gable gets more comfortable on the mic with every passing week and now seems to be getting heat effortlessly. It’s even rubbing off on Otis.

Alpha Academy and Miz was adjacent to Kurt Angle and Team Angle.

Seth Rollins def. Randy Orton

Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton will never live up to their WrestleMania 31 classic, which featured one of the greatest finishers in wrestling history.

It’s crazy to think that, since 2015, Randy Orton still feels like a bigger star than Seth Rollins. In 2015, it was vice versa.

This was a standard professional wrestling match until Riddle started brawling with Alpha Academy wearing a toga.
