Winners, News And Notes As Kevin Owens Challenges Steve Austin

Kevin Owens challenged Stone Cold Steve Austin to a WrestleMania match at the conclusion of WWE Raw. After a debilitating loss in an excellent opening Triple Threat match for the Raw Tag Team Championship, Owens closed the show by burying the state of Texas, name-dropping JBL and Booker T and ultimately challenging Stone Cold Steve Austin to a WrestleMania match.

WWE Raw advertised Edge explaining his actions after last week’s heel-turn and subsequent assault of AJ Styles, Logan Paul celebrating his homecoming alongside The Miz, a special appearance from Jerry “The King” Lawler and a Triple Threat match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships as Alpha Academy defends against RK-Bro, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.

Last week’s broadcast of Raw garnered 1.753 million viewers.

RK-Bro def. Alpha Academy, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens

By the time we get to #RawAfterMania, Chad Gable’s “shoooosh” chant will be so over, WWE will regret they introduced it. It’ll be the new “what” chant.

This match took up the majority of the first hour of Raw and it earned every minute of it. It’s almost like they were inspired by the great Triple Threat tag team match from last night’s AEW Revolution.

Randy Orton might have hit a Top-5 RKO when he caught a moonsaulting Chad Gable in midair.

On any other weekend, this would be the best Triple Threat tag team match I saw all weekend.

Dana Brooke def. Tamina

Dana Brooke and Reggie vs. Tamina and Akira Tozawa feels like the only WrestleMania feud that will end in a double date.

Tamina and Akira Tozawa continued to tease a romance as Tamina blew a kiss to Tozawa. Reggie and Dana Brooke are apparently an item as they share a backstage kiss before the match.

The Miz Celebrates Logan Paul’s Homecoming; Jerry Lawler

Cleveland loved The Miz. Logan Paul is such a great heel, he wasn’t even close to a babyface in his own town.

In true Miz fashion, The Miz buried the city of Cleveland and turned the entire arena against him by saying “winners leave Cleveland.” And then this segment just ended with no comeuppance.

Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa def. The Dirty Dawgz

The announce team immediately began reading off Bron Breakker’s accolades. In a surprise to nobody, it seems WWE is very excited about his future.

This was a good night for Bron Breakker, and it’ll be interesting to see if NXT’s viewership is positively affected by having its talent on Raw.

Omos def. Apollo Crews

Not only did Apollo Crews not have a chance in this match, it seemed designed to tease a showdown between Omos and Commander Azeez.

The announcers seemed to suggest that Omos is angling for a major challenger at WrestleMania. Possibly another giant.

Edge Explains his Actions

Edge walked out to half his theme music underneath a spotlight with a blue hue. He’s really taking this heel turn seriously.

The first words out of Edge’s mouth after his first true heel turn in over a decade were “you think you know me?”

Surprisingly, Edge didn’t blame the fans for his heel turn like most WWE villains.

Edge’s promo was short and sweet, but at one point he seemed genuinely annoyed that fans were giving him the “what” treatment.

Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan def. Queen Zelina and Carmella

The theme of this show was wrestlers scrambling for a WrestleMania spot.

Carmella was too distracted canoodling with Corey Graves, leading to Zelina Vega losing. It looks like Carmella and Zelina are headed for a split. Whether or not this will become a WrestleMania match is anybody’s guess.

WWE—and the pro wrestling industry—is really falling in love with the concept of Triple Threat tag team matches.

Finn Balor def. Damian Priest by Disqualification

Finn Balor is a baffling opponent for Austin Theory, having just won the United States Championship, but the DQ finish made sense, especially with Damian Priest costing Balor the match.

Kevin Owens Challenges Stone Cold Steve Austin to a WrestleMania Match

Kevin Owens called out Booker T just weeks after Booker T made comments about Owens in an interview with yours truly.

Kevin Owens called out Stone Cold Steve Austin. Knowing WWE, I’ll bet the match isn’t even set in stone yet, they just shot this angle to force Austin’s hand.
