Jon Moxley Returns to AEW

In true Jon Moxley fashion, the first words spoken out of Moxley’s mouth were “Go [expletive] yourself…” which he said to a heckling fan. AEW hecklers have really been making headlines recently.

Jon Moxley looked very lean, but not only will he have to wrestle in two weeks, he’s wrestling for GCW as its world champion in what’s sure to be a death match.

Jon Moxley maintained his intensity and I’ll be very interested to see whom he feuds with in his return to AEW.

Adam Cole and Britt Baker def. Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander

I’m not sure I’m a fan of “girlfriend Britt Baker” who’s more of a damsel in distress than the “Baddest Bitch on the Block” that made her in to a superstar.

Adam Cole vowed revenge against Orange Cassidy after Cassidy accidentally knocked Britt Baker through a table. Next week, Cassidy and Cole will face off in a Lights Out match, where Cassidy might have a chance to beat Cole since it technically won’t count.

CM Punk def. Shawn Spears

CM Punk beat Shawn Spears in a matter of seconds. In fact, this win might be the new Guinness World Record after Aliyah set the record on SmackDown last week.

Cody Rhodes Appears Live

Cody Rhodes had to soldier through “shut the [expletive] up” chants early on.

Cody singlehandedly turned this crowd despite many fans trying to hijack his promo. It was a work of art.

Rhodes made the obligatory free agent reference by saying Tony Khan “didn’t offer him the contract he wanted.”

Malakai Black and Brody King def. The Varsity Blondes

This was nothing more than a squash match as Brian Pillman Jr. had second thoughts about hitting the Air Pillman. If you’ll remember, last time he tried the move against Malakai Black he (intentionally) botched it, so this seems to be building off that.

Somehow, PAC still wants vengeance against Malakai Black despite Black blowing mist in his face.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts returned in a backstage segment, so now Lance Archer has two managers.

Lance Archer def. Frankie Kazarian

As part of Frankie Kazarian’s entrance, Justin Roberts now announces him as “You guessed it, Frankie Kazarian!”

This match was one-sided as expected, but so much longer than it should have been.

In another AEW heckler moment, Lance Archer audibly cursed out a fan throughout the match.

Every Hangman Adam Page feud features a non-wrestling segment where Hangman Adam Page fails to hit the Buckshot Lariat.

Serena Deeb def. Skye Blue

In another squash match, Serena Deeb violently destroyed Skye Blue, winning with a unique submission where she banged Blue’s knee against the mat, forcing her to tap out.

Sting and Darby Allin def. The Acclaimed

The Acclaimed had a very funny Darby Allin-style vignette prior to Max Caster’s freestyle mentioning “gory self-mutilation.”

The Acclaimed took Allin out early in the match, opening the door for an upset victory.
