Chris Jericho Turns Heel on Eddie Kingston

If this segment goes the way I think it will, this will be the last time we see Chris Jericho walk out to “Judas.”

This heel turn was brilliantly done. 2point0 barely touched Jericho while pretending to beat him down (kayfabe) if that makes sense. Jericho’s new stable is called the Jericho Appreciation Society, and I’m here for it.

Hangman Adam Page def. Dante Martin—AEW World Heavyweight Championship

It’s great to see AEW do something with a talented Black wrestler like Dante Martin outside of feuding with Team Taz.

The announcers were talking up Dante Martin as having a chance at beating Hangman Adam Page, but it really sounded like they were convincing themselves.

Hangman Adam Page really put over Dante Martin following this match. Exactly what a young up-and-comer like Dante needs to separate from the pack.

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson def. The Workhorsemen

In terms of a pun, the term “Workhorsemen” feels like too much of a good thing.

In Bryan Danielson’s first match with William Regal by his side, he shockingly didn’t wear his signature color of maroon—which he began wearing to pay tribute to his mentor.

It felt great to see Tony Schiavone call William Regal “your Lordship” after 29 years.

William Regal’s post-match promo went on very long. At one point, Tony Schiavone was checking his watch.

There was no mention of Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia or Lee Moriarty during this entire segment. With Daniel Garcia aligned with Chris Jericho, I’m guessing the idea of Moxley and Danielson mentoring the three young stars is kaput.

Jim Ross admitted, through gritted teeth, that people like Danhausen and he matters.

It feels like forever since the last time I saw PAC in a singles match.

Jeff Hardy Debuts, Saves Matt Hardy

After Jericho broke up The Inner Circle, FTR fired Tully Blanchard and AHFO kicked out Matt Hardy, this show averaged a paltry 3 betrayals per hour.

Fans immediately began chanting for Jeff Hardy as Matt Hardy was being beaten down. When Darby Allin’s music hit, it was one of his most tepid pops ever.

Jeff Hardy used his vintage Hardy Boyz theme to debut in AEW and this place went nuts.

Hardy and CM Punk both brought their WWE themes with them to AEW, and it led to arguably the two biggest pops in AEW history.

Wardlow Appears Live

Wardlow’s promo felt a bit over-scripted, but his delivery was solid and these fans were really behind him.

It seems MJF’s feud with Wardlow will revolve around the TNT Championship.

Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus def. The Acclaimed—AEW World Tag Team Championship

Max Caster has had a lot of bars for Jungle Boy. This week, he went after Jungle Boy’s lack of pubes.

Anthony Bowens continues to improve in leaps and bounds, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s one of the best wrestlers in the AEW locker room.

Thunder Rosa def. Leyla Hirsch

Thunder Rosa carried Leyla Hirsch to a decent match, and while Hirsch has a promising future, she has a ways to go in the ring.

Leyla Hirsch grabbed a turnbuckle from under the ring, and today I learned that’s where AEW keeps its production equipment.

Thunder Rosa is going to face Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship inside a Steel Cage in Thunder Rosa’s hometown, and Baker’s lengthy title reign is certain to come to an end.
