A live AEW Rampage advertised an AEW World Heavyweight Championship match between Hangman Adam Page and Adam Cole in a Texas Death match. Hangman Adam Page retained his title in an entertaining, if not bloody, main event against Cole.
AEW also advertised the return of Ruby Soho who took on Robyn Renegade in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and The Gunn Club vs. the Blackpool Combat Club.
AEW Rampage scored a 2022-high of 600,000 viewers.

AEW Rampage Results | Friday, April 15, 2022
The Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Gunn Club
Blackpool Combat Club needs their own theme for the entire stable, and I suggest Tony Khan licenses “I’m Shipping off to Boston.”
Wheeler Yuta remained very popular, coming off his star-making performance against Jon Moxley, with “Yuta” chants to start this match. Yuta was even more over than Billy Gunn.
Billy Gunn’s kickout unintentionally sent Wheeler Yuta flying in the air.
The Butcher def. Barrett Brown
The Butcher very much needed a squash match after AEW randomly brought him back to television and expected fans to take him seriously as a threat to Wardlow.
Wardlow’s match lasted almost as long as the graphic for his match against Wardlow on AEW Dynamite.
Wardlow won this match with a power bomb, and it’ll be a spectacle to see Wardlow get the big fella up for a power bomb of his own.
Ruby Soho def. Robyn Renegade—Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier
Prior to this match, Dustin Rhodes challenged CM Punk to a match on AEW Dynamite.
It was great to see Ruby Soho back in action, and similar to the TBS Championship Tournament, the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will be loaded with potential winners like Soho, Britt Baker and Toni Storm.
Hangman Adam Page def. Adam Cole—Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship
Since this was a Texas Death Match, both Cole and Page wore their street clothes, though Page rocked denim jeans with fringes on the side.
There was a cool spot where Hangman Adam Page (while holding a chair) faked a moonsault. This forced Adam Cole to try a superkick, only for Page to come back with a second moonsault.
There weren’t nearly as many “let’s go Adam” shenanigans in this match as this Texas crowd took the match seriously from the jump.
Adam Page balked at hitting Adam Cole with a steel chair covered in barbed wire. He later used his bare hands to rub the barbed wire on Cole’s face and deliver a Deadeye through the table.
As expected this was a bloody main event with a lot of entertaining high spots. The timeslot change stands to really hurt AEW Rampage, so we’ll see how much a live AEW Championship main event will help its viewership.
