WWE Raw Winners And Grades
Dominik Mysterio Def. Ricochet
Sami Zayn cut an impassioned promo on the Judgment Day, comparing them to the Bloodline. When it seemed like the Judgment Day was going to attack Sami Zayn, Ricochet made the save. Unfortunately, Zayn was nowhere to be found when Ricochet needed him most.
Dominik Mysterio scored a rollup victory after outside interference, and Ricochet almost immediately got his heat back.
Ricochet vs. Dominik Mysterio Grade: B
The Creed Brothers Def. Alpha Academy
Michael Cole was so excited about seeing the Creed Brothers debut, which really added to their star power as a viewer.
Fans “oohed” and “Aahed” at Julius Creed’s strength when he hit a vertical suplex on Chad Gable while simultaneously standing up.
The Creed Brothers feel like Alpha Academy’s Spiderman meme.
There was an outstanding sequence where Julius broke up a pinfall with a 450 only for Chad Gable to land a moonsault on Julius, resulting in a quadruple-decker nearfall.
Ivy Nile hit a German Suplex on Akira Tozawa and was booed for it.
For Halloween, the New Day dressed up as the New Judgment Day.
Creed Brothers vs. Alpha Academy Grade: A+
MizTV With IMPERIUM
As an entertaining and charismatic heel, The Miz was the de facto babyface to the joyless IMPERIUM.
Miz called Giovanni Vinci a third wheel, and Vinci asked if Miz was third wheel to his wife on Total Divas. It didn’t get much of a reaction, but Miz sarcastically said “he talked!” and got the crowd to cheer Vinci for speaking.
GUNTHER was immediately showered with “what” chants.
MizTV Grade: A-
DIY Def. IMPERIUM
WWE aired a vignette about DIY from NXT
XT
Vinci showed a lot of burst and athleticism in this match. It was like he was saying “please don’t cut me when from WWE when I get cut from IMPERIUM” through his wrestling.
Vinci took the pinfall and the ice he’s on is thinner than James Ellsworth.
DIY vs. IMPERIUM Grade: B
Xia Li Def. Candice LeRae
There were so many vignettes on this show, including one for Xia Li.
Candice did a great job selling Xia Li’s spin kick, which resulted in a referee stoppage. Apparently Xia Li is getting the Wardlow push.
WWE fans are not accustomed to TKO finishes, so they sat silently when the match was called off.
Xia Li vs. Candice LeRae Grade: C
Seth Rollins Def. JD McDonagh
Michael Cole talked up Seth Rollins’ “breakneck pace” only to announce that he was competing for the first time in four months.
Seth Rollins had a great clapback to Drew McIntyre’s vignette, where McIntyre lamented the pandemic. As a man of the people, Rollins said some people didn’t even know where their next paycheck was coming from.
The second the announcers talked about how impressive it is that JD McDonagh was hanging with Seth Rollins, you knew McDonagh was destined for a loss, if you didn’t know already.
Damian Priest showed up with a briefcase, a ref and—of course—no cash-in.
Seth Rollins vs. JD McDonagh Grade:
Chelsea Green Def. Natalya
This was a Trick or Street Fight. Chelsea Green (Bret Hart) and Piper Niven (Anvil) went as the Hart Foundation.
Like all weapons matches, this match was immediately overtaken by chants of “we want tables!”
Nikki Cross’ head popped out from under a table at one point.
Natalya vs. Chelsea Green Grade: C
Damian Priest Vs. Sami Zayn Ends In DQ
Wade Barrett insisted that, despite booking their matches, Rhea Ripley is not the leader of the Judgment Day, she’s the “chief strategist.”
Damian Priest’s old move “the Reckoning,” is similar to Cody Rhodes’ Cross Rhodes, and Cole’s callback to Priest’s history is the type of commentary you simply didn’t hear under Vince.
Jey Uso hit the ring and this match later ended in a DQ.
Cody Rhodes limped to Sami Zayn’s aid as WWE continues to start and end every Raw identically.
Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn Grade: B-
