WWE Raw Winners And Grades
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Challenge The Usos
Fans chanted for Sami, and after Kevin Owens addressed these chants, they gave a pity chant to Owens.
Roman Reigns pulled up backstage as The Usos, Zayn and Owens brawled, then WWE went right to its next match and then commercial.
Opening Segment Grade: B+
Austin Theory def. Montez Ford
Austin Theory received a new entrance similar to that of EC 3, and with invisible pyro.
Now that Theory has ran through the Street Profits heading into WrestleMania, it’ll be interesting to see if WWE feeds him another babyface tag team.
Backstage, Jimmy Uso put some bass in his voice while addressing Roman Reigns, saying nothing made him feel worse than being made to think it was his fault when his brother left. The Bloodline is about to be in shambles.
Reigns asked to be alone with Jey Uso. After, what I can only imagine, was an uncomfortably silent commercial break, Jey Uso confirmed he was still with The Bloodline. Reigns then touched Jey’s leg and said “I love you.”
Oddly enough, When WWE came back from commercial break, every segment was a backstage segment. There was not a single match.
Montez Ford vs. Austin Theory Grade: B
Omos def. Mustafa Ali
WWE aired a great video package for Omos vs. Brock Lesnar.
After being booked to get squashed by Omos with no WrestleMania matches in sight, we’re entering another “stop” phase of Ali’s start-and-stop career. WWE still seems to be doing something with him and Dolph Ziggler, however, I’m guessing they’ll end up as a tag team.
Omos vs. Mustafa Ali Grade: C
Impaulsive TV With Logan Paul And Seth Rollins
Logan Paul had a sick burn for the St. Lous Rams which elicited loud boos from this audience.
Logan Paul was hammered with “what” chants after going on a rant about all the different “Seth’s.”
Logan Paul is so good at being unlikable.
Logan Paul (WWE production) added a clown face to Seth Rollins’ face when he got knocked out. He kept replaying the footage but this crowd wasn’t nearly as hot for it as they were when he did it in Boston.
Seth Rollins went with leopard skin print pajamas this week.
Seth Rollins had a scary landing where he landed right on is face after diving onto security, only to get right back up and get knocked out by Logan Paul again.
Seth Rollins-Logan Paul Grade: B-
Dominik Mysterio def. Johnny Gargano
Johnny Gargano led Dominik Mysterio to a very good match, and my fear is that this will be his ceiling on the main roster in WWE. If that’s the case, he really should move down to NXT
XT
Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley have his and hers winning streaks.
Dominik vs. Johnny Gargano Grade: B
Rhea Ripley def. Bayley
In a backstage segment, Edge demanded that Finn Balor bring his demon to WrestleMania.
Fans chanted “Mami!” before Rhea began as she continues to trend toward being the heel who gets cheered in her match against Charlotte.
Ripley appeared to get thrown off by getting “what” chants after the crowd showered her with cheers (mixed in with boos).
Ripley and Bayley worked an impromptu match. Ripley was made to look strong after kicking out of the Bayley-to-Belly at one.
Bayley surprisingly lost, however not without outside interference from Trish Stratus, Lita and Becky Lynch, who is back to dressing like a heel.
Rhea Ripley Promo Grade: C+
Ricochet def. Chad Gable
This was the match of the night by far. Even in front of a fatigued crowd, St. Louis woke up and chanted “this is awesome.” Given the star power on this show, it’s crazy to think that was the first “this is awesome” chant of the night.
Otis appeared to side with Chad Gable in a backstage segment, then he was escorted away from the ring by Maxine Dupri. It seems like Otis’ loyalty is with whoever spoke with him last.
Ricochet vs. Chad Gable Grade: A-
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven def. Bianca Belair and Asuka
Asuka and Bianca Belair began arguing, almost immediately, increasing the likelihood of Green and Doudrop winning.
Chelsea Green deserves to be on the WrestleMania, even in her limited time on the main roster. During one of many backstage segments on tonight’s show, she was fantastic.
I love how every time Bianca goes to lift up Piper Niven, Corey Graves acts like there’s no way it’s possible, even though Belair has yeeted Niven plenty of times. Does Graves think Niven and Doudrop are two different people?
After an impressive KOD on Belair, Asuka turned heel by attacking the super babyface.
Green-Niven vs. Belair-Asuka Grade: B
Roman Reigns Confronts Cody Rhodes
After a marathon entrance, Roman Reigns’ reaction was gigantic, and per usual, Cody Rhodes’ reaction was even bigger.
Roman Reigns was one of many heels to receive “what” chants in St. Louis. Boy, they love that stupid chant.
Roman Reigns called out Cody Rhodes for not getting over in AEW. Reigns then said Rhodes’ body broke down after he “got over” in WWE.
Cody Rhodes stunted on Roman reigns with a better AEW-style promo about professional wrestling than AEW currently has.
Cody Rhodes forecasted The Bloodline’s demise by joining Sami Zayn in predicting Jey Uso will turn on Reigns.
Solo Sikoa disobeyed Roman Reigns’ orders by trying to attack Cody Rhodes and failing miserably. WWE Raw went off the air with chants of “you’re not ready!”
Cody Rhodes-Roman Reigns Grade: A+
