WWE Raw Winners And Grades
Rhea Gets New Belt, Cody Rhodes Def. The Miz
New Belt SZN continued as this time Rhea Ripley received a WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Championship similar to the WWE Raw Championship.
Dominik Mysterio got in another cheapshot on Cody before running off for the second week in a row. Ripley accepted Cody Rhodes’ challenge for Money in the Bank, which will be a great feud for both Cody and Dominik before Rhodes meets Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Cody Rhodes was a master in getting these fans fired up at the right moment, but even before then they were chanting “let’s go Cody” while the man was still on offense.
Cody Rhodes vs. The Miz Grade: B
Becky Lynch Def. Chelsea Green
It was revealed that Trish Stratus was not on Raw tonight due to the WWE Hall of Famer shooting her 110th magazine cover.
Zoey Stark watched from the stage while sitting atop a prop ladder.
Becky Lynch vs. Chelsea Green Grade: C
Damian Priest Def. Matt Riddle
Backstage with the Judgment Day, Damian Priest once again demanded that he handle his business on his own, leading to more tension with Finn Bal0r, who was distant.
Unlike most Money in the Bank qualifiers, where there is a heavy favorite, I could see this match going either way. Matt Riddle has been eating a ton of losses, and is trending to face GUNTHER at Money in the Bank, while Damian Priest’s budding feud with Finn Balor could end up costing him.
Damian Priest beat Riddle clean, and after he had a staredown with GUNTHER. Priest wouldn’t be the worst choice to dethrone GUNTHER when it’s time.
Damian Priest vs. Matt Riddle Grade: B+
Bronson Reed Def. Ricochet By Disqualification
Backstage, Kevin Owens threw another tantrum on IMPERIUM, and fans came alive for it. These tantrums are going to be the key to Owens being the alpha Canadian of this tag team once again.
Ricochet took a great bump when Reed used the top rope to deadlift Ricochet.
Shinsuke Nakamura forced a disqualification loss for Ricochet when he attacked Bronson Reed. Ricochet was none-too-pleased, and as he was getting into it with Shinsuke, Reed attacked them both.
Ricochet and Nakamura teamed up for a double suplex on Bronson Reed, and the crowd was so impressed they chanted “holy s—t!”
Ricochet vs. Bronson Reed Grade: B
Finn Balor And Seth Rollins Face Off
Fans sang Seth Rollins’ theme song over Finn Balor every chance he tried to speak. If this is the new “what” chant, WWE will go back to empty arena shows.
Fans eventually got tired and the chants died down, about five minutes into the promo. To be fair, Rollins and Balor seemed to be egging on the chants.
Rollins had a great bar about Balor and Rollins’ career trajectories: “one of us got bitter, and one of us got better.”
Finn Balor and Seth Rollins Promo Grade: B+
Shayna Baszler Def. Raquel Rodriguez
Baszler rolled up Rodriguez with help from a Ronda Rousey foot on Rodriguez’s butt.
Rodriguez is in a tough spot with Liv Morgan injured. But WWE needs to prioritize her and pull the trigger on a singles run.
Shayna Baszler vs. Raquel Rodriguez Grade: C
Chad Gabe Def. Erik
There were loud “let’s go Gable” chants to start this match as Kansas treated Gable the way most cities treat Otis.
Maxxine Dupri, who now has an Alpha Academy singlet, hit an armdrag on Valhalla on the outside.
Chad Gable vs. Erik Grade: C+
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Def. GUNTHER And Kaiser
It was announced that Logan Paul would return next week and the announcement got a ton of heat.
This match was going head-to-head with the fourth quarter of a very competitive Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The main event was excellent, as advertised. Riddle distracted GUNTHER, leaving Kaiser to take the losing pinfall.
Owens and Zayn vs. GUNTHER and Kaiser Grade: B+
