WWE Money In The Bank 2023 Winners and Grades

Damian Priest Wins Men’s Money In The Bank

Sadly, Shinsuke Nakamura did not walk out to the Lil Uzi Vert remix of his theme song.

Santos Escobar had in tribal warpaint that kind of made him look like the Latino Hamburgler.

Once again, LA Knight was massively over, while Logan Paul received massive heat. Both from the O2 Arena and the Money in the Bank field which pounced on Paul early on. They continued to gang up against him when he tried to climb the ladder.

Everybody got the smoke from this crowd when they put hands on LA Knight, even Shinsuke Nakamura.

Butch, who wore a matching PBR singlet with Ridge Holland’s gear from the night before, pulled out a cricket bat to an easy pop.

Logan Paul convinced Damian Priest to work with him by saying “you’re tall, I’m tall…” The alliance did not last for more than a handful of seconds after Priest yeeted Paul to the tune of “you deserver it” chants.

Despite an impressive spot where Paul leapt onto the ladder and hit a Russian leg sweep on LA Knight, then followed up with a frog splash, he was met with chants of “you still suck.”

Nakamura (accidentally?) hit a GTS followed by a DDT. There wasn’t a single CM Punk chant.

Ricochet earned “holy s—t” and “this is awesome” chants with a springboard 450 splash.

LA Knight was kept quite limited throughout this match given his push as he picked many of his spots.

An ice-cold. Damian Priest won. Wrong choice.

Men’s Money in the Bank Grade: B

Rousey and Baszler Def. Rodriguez and Morgan

If a finish like this happened in London, where an ice-cold Damian Priest won Money in the Bank over a piping-hot LA Knight, even five years ago, this entire match would have been hijacked. It wasn’t, because the only thing hotter than LA Knight right now is WWE.

Despite competing in this match, Shayna Baszler shockingly turned on Ronda Rousey. Everything about Rousey and Baszler’s pairing has been rushed.

If Rousey is intended to be the babyface, she has an uphill climb because fans were chanting “thank you Shayna.”

WWE Women’s Tag Title Match Grade: C+

GUNTHER Def. Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle had one of his bare feet taped to sell his ankle injury.

Riddle definitely wasn’t the babyface he is in the states as a lot of this European crowd backed the German Walter.

GUNTHER chopped Matt Riddle’s ankle and promptly submitted him clean.

GUNTHER vs. Matt Riddle Grade: C

Cody Rhodes Def. Dominik Mysterio

Cody Rhodes was massively over in London. It was even on a different level than LA Knight as fans sang every word of Rhodes’ theme song. Rhea Ripley be damned.

Michael Cole continued to play up Dominik Mysterio’s sketchy street cred as he reported that Mysterio got a jaywalking ticket in London.

Cody Rhodes shed his cast early in the match. Dom promptly went running for his life.

Fans were chanting about Cody Rhodes throughout the match.

Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio Grade: B

John Cena Returns At Money In The Bank 2023

John Cena seemed taken aback that fans were singing the lyrics to his song rather than “John Cena sucks.”

Between LA Knight, Cody Rhodes and John Cena, there was no shortage of super babyfaces on this show.

Grayson Waller showed well in the biggest spot of his career alongside John Cena. For more about their exchange, and the possibility of WrestleMania London, click here.

Iyo Sky Wins Women’s Money In The Bank

Fans wasted no time doing the “hey Bayley chants,” while Bayley and Iyo Sky wasted no time fighting over a ladder.

Iyo was massively over with this crowd, and WWE ultimately made the right choice by having her win in a very creative finish.

Women’s Money in the Bank Grade: A

Seth Rollins Def. Finn Balor

Michael Cole played up Seth Rollins not being 100% for this matchup after being attacked at a live event in Newcastle the night before. Rollins was wearing tape over his ribs that looked suspiciously similar to the Hundreds logo.

Rollins’ injured ribs also increased the likelihood of a Money in the Bank cash-in, which would continue the story of Damian Priest upstaging Finn Balor as a Judgment Day split nears.

There are a number of scenarios where Damian Priest could cash-in in ways that piss Finn Balor off.

Of course, this match had the obligatory buckle bomb to Finn Balor inside the ring. Balor was fine.

Damian Priest crashed the match, sat ringside, distracted Finn Balor—who lost because of it—and then idd nothing. What a lackluster night for the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase.

Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor Grade: B

The Usos Win Bloodline Civil War

Roman Reigns’ long entrance also featured a First Take-like debate between Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

The Bloodline Civil War match started with on-brand chants of “F you, Roman,” and Jimmy Uso took pleasure in them. Fans added a “Tribal wanker” chant just to be sure.

There was a very good early sequence where Solo Sikoa hesitated to tag Roman in, prompting Jey Uso to say “you better listen to your damn daddy.”

Paul Heyman gave Reigns a great pep talk, which led to Reigns taking control of the match.

Another in the sea of chants: “If you hate Roman, stand up,” and even chanted for Solo Sikoa.

Main event Jey—who has emerged as the Alpha Uso—received the hot tag and ran wild as a slow-paced match kicked into second gear.

Jimmy Uso made a blind tag, leading to a double spear on a Spearing Reigns. Sikoa made the save at the last second.

There was a callback spot where Reigns trapped a diving Jimmy Uso into a guillotine. Jimmy rallied out of the hold, and the crowd came unglued.

It wouldn’t be a Bloodline match without a ref bump, which happened to the tune where it gave Jey Uso a visual pinfall. Michael Cole exclaiming “Roman’s going to survive again,” made me think Roman was going to take the losing pinfall in this match.

Reigns and Sikoa stuck Jey Uso with a double spike and spear, to the tune of “bulls—t” chants. The dual kickouts led to a huge explosion.

It became apparent Reigns was taking the fall when Sikoa went through a table, leaving Roman all alone in the ring. Jey Uso ultimately scored the pinfall, leading to an explosion in cheers like the Queen had come back.

Bloodline Civil War Grade: A+
