The cast of Netflix’s hit crime drama The Waterfront includes Humberly González as Jenna Tate, the ex-high-school girlfriend of Jake Weary’s Cane Buckley. What else has González starred in?
Released on June 19, The Waterfront immediately became the No. 1 most-streamed show in the U.S. on the platform from June 16-22 with 8.3 million views, which equates to 53.3 million hours viewed.
The official logline for the series created by Kevin Williamson reads, “The Waterfront dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat.”
Holt McCallany stars as family patriarch Harlan Buckley, while Maria Bello plays Belle, Harlan’s wife and business partner. The series also stars Melissa Benoist as the Buckley’s daughter, Bree, who is still in recovery from drug addiction; while Weary plays the Buckley’s son, Cane, whose desperate decision to run drugs to save the crumbling company threatens to doom the family for good.
González’s Jenna is a journalist in Atlanta who returns home to North Carolina to care for her dying father. Her encounter with Cane, however, suddenly creates tension between each of them and their spouses, as the warm memories of being high school sweethearts bubble up to the surface.
González was born on April 14, 1992, in Venezuela and grew up in Canada. She made her screen debut in the 2016 Canadian miniseries Women Are From Mars and since then has appeared in guest roles in several television shows, including BBC America’s Orphan Black (2017) and the Netflix series Workin’ Moms (2019) and Jupiter’s Legacy (2021).
The actor has also appeared in recurring roles in such TV series as The CW’s In the Dark and NBC-TV’s Nurses (2021) and had a supporting role in the 2021 Bob Odenkirk action comedy Nobody. In addtion, González has starred in the 2022 Lifetime original movies Fallen Angels Murder Club: Friends to Die For and Fallen Angels Murder Club: Heroes and Felons.

Humberly González stars as Brooklyn 2, one of the lead characters in Hulu’s dystopian sci-fi drama Utopia Falls, which ran for one season on the streaming service.
