Whitney Houston remains one of the greatest singers of all time, and decades after she first topped charts around the world and years after her passing, her voice continues to connect with millions of people. In the United Kingdom, her legacy is so powerful to this day that one compilation of her hits simply isn’t enough. Several different collections of her biggest singles find space on the charts from time to time, and this week, a pair of titles make their way back to one ranking, while another long-running best-of continues to climb.
Two Compilations Return to the Downloads Chart
Both The Greatest Hits and The Ultimate Collection reenter the Official Album Downloads chart this frame. The Greatest Hits comes back at No. 48, while The Ultimate Collection returns at No. 59. It’s a rare accomplishment for an artist to see two separate compilations return to the same chart at the same time, but Houston has managed it more than once over the years.
Chart Histories for the Returning Titles
Of the two returning favorites, The Ultimate Collection is the more established. The set has now spent 130 weeks on the Official Album Downloads chart and climbed as high as No. 2.
The Greatest Hits is a more recent addition to her catalog by comparison, as it has only appeared on the downloads ranking for a total of 16 weeks so far. It has already reached the top five, where it peaked at No. 4.
I Will Always Love You – The Best Of
Houston’s I Will Always Love You – The Best Of also enjoys a positive moment on the U.K. charts. The title rises to No. 62 on the Official Albums ranking and improves to No. 44 on the Official Albums Streaming tally. On both of those rosters, Houston’s compilation climbs from where it was positioned last frame.
A Long-Running Success Story
While The Greatest Hits and The Ultimate Collection have both reached the top 10 on their respective charts, I Will Always Love You – The Best Of has never climbed into that loftiest space on either of the two tallies it currently inhabits. Even though it’s never soared into the top 10, the compilation stands out thanks to its staying power, as the project has racked up more than 200 stays on the two tallies.
