When Is ‘Frankenstein’ Streaming On Netflix? Here’s Exactly When To Watch This Week

Halloween may be over, but Frankenstein is coming to Netflix soon. Guillermo del Toro’s reimagining of the gothic horror classic is heading to streaming following its limited theatrical release. Here’s everything you need to know about watching the acclaimed rendition home.

Euphoria star Jacob Elordi plays the Creature alongside Oscar Isaac as the brilliant scientist Victor Frankenstein and Mia Goth in a dual role as Victor’s mother and fiancée. The star-studded cast also includes Christoph Waltz, Ralph Ineson, Felix Kammerer and Charles Dance.

“Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation,” the official synopsis reads.

Elordi’s intense transformation into the monstrous creature, which first appeared in Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein, took a whopping 10 hours a day in the makeup trailer.

“There’s so many different layers to the costume,” Elordi told Variety in August. “When he’s born, he’s wearing nearly nothing. His chest is open and his head is high. Then, as he starts to experience pain, as we do as a teenager, he starts to hunch his shoulders. And as an adult, he closes off.”

Del Toro even warned Elordi about what would be expected of him if he took on the role. “This is the sacrament,” he recalled telling the 28-year-old actor during one of their conversations. “You need to get into a holy state.”

Frankenstein had an exclusive three-week limited run in theaters, although the stars advocated for a longer run. “It’s heartbreaking that films like these don’t have full cinematic releases,” Elordi said to Variety. “My great hope is that we get this film in cinemas for as long as possible. And then, hopefully, that can set a precedent for more films out there.”

Now, it’s finally time for the film’s highly anticipated streaming debut. Here’s exactly when to tune in if you haven’t seen Frankenstein in theaters or if you want to watch it again.
