The nominations for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Tuesday online.
Presented by the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences, the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards marks the 77th year of the annual celebration. The voting round for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards began on June 12 and voting closed on June 23. Voting takes place for 118 categories overall.
The Primetime Emmy Awards are handed out in three separate ceremonies. The 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards and Governors Gala is set for Sept. 6 and 7, the main televised Emmys celebration is Sept. 14 and the Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards will be handed out Oct. 14.
This year’s nominations for the main categories for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced by actors Brenda Song (The Last Showgirl, Running Point) and Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows).
The announcement of the nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET/ 8:30 AM PT and will stream live on the Television Academy’s website. The nominations will also stream live on the Television Academy’s YouTube channel, which is embedded below.
Which Shows Are Expected To Nab The Top Nominations For The 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards?
In the Outstanding Drama Series category, Variety predicts that the eight nominees will be Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, The Pitt, Severance, Slow Horses, Squid Game and The White Lotus.
In addition, the publication predicts that Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, The Studio and What We Do in the Shadows will earn the nominations for the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy.
The Hollywood Reporter, The Los Angeles Times and Gold Derby’s picks for nominees for the Outstanding Drama Series are the same as Variety’s predictions, but Variety is predicting that Paradise will earn a nomination in the category and Squid Game will get snubbed. THR also predicted Squid Game will get snubbed in favor of Your Friends & Neighbors.
The Hollywood Reporter, The LA Times and Gold Derby’s predictions for Outstanding Comedy Series are exactly the same as the picks made by Variety.
Overall, Variety is predicting that Severance and The Studio will lead the nominations with 16 nods each, followed by The Penguin with 18, The White Lotus with 17, Adolescence and The Last of Us with 16 each, and The Bear and Hacks with 15 each.
