Alabama vs. Georgia meet in the SEC Championship for the fifth time ever on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta, with the Crimson Tide holding a 4-0 record in the conference title game to date.
Most recently, Alabama — currently ranked No. 9 in the College Football Playoff — beat Georgia 27-24 in the 2023 SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is also the site for this weekend’s matchup. The victory ended the Bulldogs’ 29-game winning streak that began in the postseason during the 2021 college football campaign.
The Tide have the most SEC Championship wins (11) followed by Florida (7), Georgia (5), LSU (5) and Auburn (3).

The Tide hold an all-time record of 45-26-4 against the Bulldogs dating back to the programs’ first matchup in Nov. 1895.
Meanwhile, three of the four prior SEC Championships between Alabama and Georgia — which is ranked No. 3 in the College Football Playoff — have been one-score affairs, with the lone outlier being in 2021 when the Tide won by 17 points.
Alabama (10-2) and Georgia (11-1) have accounted for all five SEC Championships dating back to the 2020 college football season. The Tide also won back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021.
Last year, the Bulldogs, which are led by Kirby Smart — the highest-paid coach in college football according to a USA Today database — beat Texas in overtime. In 2022, Georgia defeated LSU en route to the program’s second consecutive College Football Playoff National Championship.

Kickoff for Saturday’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET on ABC. ESPN/ABC’s top college football broadcasting group of Chris Fowler (play by play) and Kirk Herbstreit (analyst) will be calling the game in Atlanta. Sideline reporters Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge will also provide in-game commentary from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
