Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Summer I Turned Pretty Episode 9.
After her wedding plans fell apart, Belly is starting a new chapter in Paris. She’s already made new friends, ran around Paris chasing her stolen backpack (which she successfully recovered) and has officially decided to stay in the City of Love for the time being.
However, Belly’s first day in Paris is anything but smooth. She discovers she doesn’t have a spot in the fall Study Abroad program due to an administrative mistake, her backpack gets stolen and she feels uncertain about her future. Despite everything, Jeremiah wants to give their relationship another chance. But Belly decides to finally put herself first by staying in Paris. Conrad also learns the hard truth from Jere: Belly didn’t choose him, either.
Fans are eager to learn what happens next, especially since the final three episodes deviate from Jenny Han’s third and final book, We’ll Always Have Summer. With the story now in uncharted territory, it’s uncertain which Fisher boy Belly will choose — or if she’ll choose either of them at all.
Prior to the release of Episode 9, Prime Video dropped a teaser trailer for the final three episodes of the series. Will Conrad or Jeremiah make their way to Paris to see Belly? Or could Belly explore a connection with the attractive Parisian Benito? Here’s exactly when you can watch the penultimate episode of TSIP Season 3.

After Belly and Jere call off the wedding, Belly goes to the airport and books a flight to Paris. Before boarding, she spots Conrad sitting in the terminal. She considers approaching him, but since she’s next in line, she continues walking and boards the plane. Conrad doesn’t notice that she’s there, and he receives a call from Adam informing him that the wedding isn’t happening.
At the bar, Jeremiah is drunk and drowning his pain in alcohol. He asks Steven and Taylor if Conrad and Belly ran away together, but they assure him that’s not the case. Meanwhile, Conrad has returned to the house in Cousins without Belly and is concerned about his brother’s well-being. Jeremiah wants to call Belly to find out where she is, but Steven and Taylor tell him that’s not a good idea.
In Paris, Belly discovers that her study abroad program is completely full. She calls her Mom in tears, and Laurel tells her to come home, no matter how much the return flight costs. But while at a café, Belly’s backpack is stolen. She tracks it to a nightclub where she meets Gemma, Gemma’s girlfriend, Max, and their friends Celine and Benito. After sharing everything that happened in the past day and a half, they encourage her to stay in Paris.
Steven finally discovers that Jeremiah cheated on Belly with Lacie during his trip to Cabo. He also makes up with Taylor, and they finally kiss. They both admit that they want each other and that being together is worth the risk.
Belly calls Jeremiah for the first time since their emotional conversation on their wedding day. Jere tells Belly that he can’t sleep without her, and he doesn’t want their relationship to end. Instead, he wants things to go back to the way they were. But Belly says that’s not possible, and she doesn’t even know who she is anymore. The conversation ends with Jere telling Belly, “Don’t f*cking call me again.”
At the end of the episode, Conrad runs into Jeremiah in the kitchen. Jere is looking at one of their mom’s paintings, which Conrad intended to gift for the wedding. Conrad apologizes for everything, but Jeremiah says he’s fine. Jere also drops the bomb that Belly’s in Paris. “She didn’t choose me, but she didn’t pick you either. So why don’t you get the f*ck out, go back to California and never come back?” Jere lashes out.
Adam encourages Conrad to give Jeremiah some space, which is the same thing he did with Conrad after Susannah’s death. “You have people who love you, and I trusted that you would lean on them, and you did. And so will he.” Adam later finds Jeremiah and hugs his son, while Jere breaks down crying in his arms.
The final scene of Episode 9 shows Belly in Paris, where she’s decided to stay for the time being. “I have no idea where I’m headed, what my future holds, or who it’s with. But I know this: Rebuilding is always possible. It has to be,” her narration concludes, as Taylor Swift’s “How Did It End?” plays in the background.
